Everyone writes, creates, and thinks differently. An exercise we are going to use to ensure we maintain a respectful creative environment is the:

WRITE IN MY SHOES EXERCISE!

Students will "trade" ideas for a day, focusing on developing characters and plot from the story of one of their classmates. This exercise will show students how difficult yet prosperous it might be to jump into one of their classmates' shoes and develop a story that is not their own.

Since everyone write and creates differently, each student will set up a personal goal with the help of the teacher, that they must strive to achieve at the end of each week.

Students may choose to work alone in a quiet space designated for them in the classroom, as this is the way some people learn and write. Other students will be placed in groups, working together, facing each other, in order to make sure everyone is seen and heard. We will also be collaborating on Google Drive so everyone can read each other's pages for the day and give constructive criticism through comments on Google Docs.
