George and Lydia Hadley live in the Happylife Home that costs a lot of money, they have two kids who love their nursery that they grew up in. George realizes a problem with the nursery and how it always brings the Veldt and not what he commands it because of this George thinks it will be great to have a break from all the electronics they live with.

This is the most important line said in "The Veldt" because it is making George realize how far he has pushed away his children. When David McClean came to check on the nursery he says that the family depends on the house so much that if the kitchen stops working then they would starve the next day. With George wanting to shut down the nursery the kids are basically losing their "parents." The nursery helped them grow up

The message behind "The Veldt" is don't always rely on technology. With David McClean saying that if their kitchen stopped working they would starve, that's how dependent on the kitchen the Hadleys were. The parents didnt take care of their kids and had the nursery do it for them. Meaning when the kids found out the nursery was going to get shut off, it is like loosing someone.

"The Veldt" can also relate to another one of Ray Bradbury's texts "The Pedestrian." In "The Pedestrian" everyone inside is on their TVs paying close attention to the channels and what they have to say, this relates to "The Veldt" because they are both all attached to the electronics that they have. In both of these stories, it seems that they live and depend on electronics so much, although in "The Pedestrian" he is outside and watching into the homes of everyone else.

In "The Veldt" the kids grew up with the nursery meaning they didnt get to spend time outside or do other activities other than stay in the nursery and watch what was happening. Yes that is kind of the parents fault for just sticking them into the nursery and letting them be, but this can relate to now in today's world by when COVID was around and everyone was on online and inside. Nobody had the time or they were too addicted to their Netflix or Youtube to take the time and go outside and watch a sunset, take a walk, ride your bike, you name it.
