They are beautiful because of how they are able to imitate the life within a person. The statues aren't limited to life-like statues as there are also abstract statues. These don't have to be associated with the concept of life-like bodies. Being able to see the different perspectives of people and their different historical contexts are amazing because we are able to learn more about the sculptor, their works, and what they are trying to convey, as they could possibly give us what exactly they were telling us through their art.
