         <description><![CDATA[<div>Create a poster about a futuristic society similar to that in The Giver. <br>Purpose: To create a futuristic society similar to that in the Giver which allows you to analyze the details and characteristics of a utopian/dystopian society. <br>Directions:<br>1. create a glogster account using your email<br>2. using what you've read, studied, and learned about the society in The Giver, Divergent, etc. create a poster about a futuristic society similar to the one in The Giver. <br>3. you must include specific details about the society such as rules, daily routines, food, jobs, special characteristics (no color, no emotions, no feelings, etc.) and anything else you wish to include. you must include at least 10 details, but are free to include more<br>4. you must include pictures that relate to each of the different aspects you focus on<br>5. turn in your glogster via email<br><a href="http://edu.glogster.com/?ref=com">http://edu.glogster.com/?ref=com</a></div>]]></description>

Journal about what your typical daily activates may include (use your own ideas, do not copy from the book).<br>Purpose: To take on the role of a character and dive in depth to understand the workings and meaning behind a utopian/dystopian society and what exactly makes it a utopian or dystopian society. <br>Directions:<br>1. create a penzu account using your email<br>2. begin a journal for The Giver<br>3. choose a character from the book to become <br>4. study your character through the use of your book, online resources, the movie, etc.<br>5. then, take on the role of your character. journal like you are living their life. you should include your typical daily activities, struggles, feelings, emotions, conversations, etc. you SHOULD incorporate your own ideas<br>6. you can include pictures, drawings, videos, notes, anything you wish. this is your journal as your character, so live your characters life through your journal. <br>7. turn in your journal via email<br>&nbsp;<a href="https://penzu.com/app/login">https://penzu.com/app/login</a></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Create a board game using events from The Giver as well as your own ideas. You are creating a game based on&nbsp; futuristic ideas. Be creative! <br>Purpose: To be creative an create a game that allows you to study as well as play games that help you study vocabulary, characters, settings, themes, etc. A way to review the material. <br>Directions: <br>1. choose a board game to base your "The Giver" game off of such as the game of Life, Jeopardy, Clue, etc. If you choose to, you may create your own game. <br>2. Once you have chosen a game to base yours off of, begin to search for a type of technology to use to create your game (PowerPoint, online templates, etc.)<br>3.
