"The same" she said. He tried stopping before, but it never lasted."  This just shows how the theme broken promises is a big role in this book because like Lori said everything was going to be the same which happens most of the time. In addition to this theme another time this theme came into play was when  Rex told them to build a big hole in Welch because it was going to be the foundation of the Glass castle but all they did was fill it with trash. I think the author is trying to show that this would happen often in their family. Lastly I choose this picture because this best describes  this quote of Jeannette and her siblings being the pavement and there’s  parents always lying and that why theirs a crack through it.

"I sometimes heard Mom and Dad discussing the people who were after us." This quote just shows how their parents were always in a fantasy saying that there was people after them and their family. Also it seems like they’re  always in a fantasy saying that they would build the glass castle which they never did and Rex kept Insisting  this to Jeannette. I believe this a big part of why they’re  family became the way they are. "For what" "Beer and Cigarettes. " " Ive got sort of a tight budget, Dad." "I don’t need much. Just five dollars."  The quote just shows even though she was on a tight budget she still gave her dad the 5 dollars and thats how the Unconditional Love comes in since she didn’t  expect nothing back in return but still cared enough to give him money. "What the goddamn hell are you talking about?" Dad asked "and watch your language." This demonstrates how he lied to his daughters about stealing their money and this all had to due to the fact he had to keep feeding his Alcohol addiction. " I did dad." I said " And you loved me." "Now thats the god honest truth." Dad chuckled. "We had some good times didn’t we?" The forgiveness she gives her dad at the end of the book gives closure to both of them since the whole family went through pretty tough times.
