1. Bullet Ant Gloves ritual
Origin from Amazon. People who practiced this ritual are the Satere-Mawe. The reason behind this ritual is to prove they are men. Basically, you can't become a man if you do not take part in this ritual. When a young man reach his puberty, he goes out into the jungle with the Medicine Man and other boys his age to find and gather bullet ants. These ants is the most painful sting in the world. The sting from these ants has been compared to a bullet hitting the flesh. While the ants are sleeping in their drug induced state, they are placed in a woven mesh glove with the stinger on the inside. When the ants wake up, they find themselves trapped and become very angry and aggressive. This is where the boys will put their hands inside the gloves and keep them on for 10 minutes while dancing to take their mind off the pain.

In my opinion, this ritual is rather painful and tormenting the person who is wearing the gloves. The ritual also will cause severe physical pain since the ants' sting is equal to bullet hitting the flesh. I don't think today's modern society will accept this practices as it is inappropriate and painful besides we can have other safe and painless alternatives to prove these young boys are men enough.

2. Baby Jumping
Origin from Spain. This Baby jumping or El Colacho is a strange tradition practiced by Spanish people. The traditions are said to cleanse the babies of original sin, ensure them safe passage through life and guard against illness and evil spirits. During the act, men would dress as the devil in red and yellow suits and jump over infants who lie on mattresses along the streets.

in my opinion, this tradition is an inappropriate behavior as it seems impolite to jump over someone who is lying down on the ground. I think this practice would not be accepted in today's modern society as it will make people feel uncomfortable to see an infant being jumped over by an adult especially in public.
