Experience in a faraway enough place I don’t never forget.

Course is good for everyone who is interested in increasing their school’s internationalization. I think I got new ideas and things to take with me to my school. It is valuable to share ideas with other teachers. The course was nicely balanced to getting to know Guadeloupe’s surroundings and course content itself and theories behind. Although there were some changes in the course plan (Isn’t there some in every course?) there was always plan B or C. :) We had time to concentrate to each subject and there weren’t any hurry. For me it was good to just let go and let things happen. I enjoyed a lot and had great time with our small group around Europe. Didn’t change a day away.

My favorite group photo is was one of those days everything happened exactly where they should.

I am sure that course in Guadeloupe was one of the most sustainable experiences I have ever had. In XXI century we get so many information which is coming from TV, radio, social media, etc, that sometimes we have no time to learn through experience, through explorying, through being and reflecting. In this courses there were two parts: 1) very strong theoretical basis about internacionalization which enables you to think about ,,why is it nessesary in the school?'' and ,,what can we do about that in our schools'', gives advices, examples how to do that; 2) and learning through exploring the island, which supllements your learning process. And it's a great way to show that learning and living are always nearby.
I am happy about reflections which we needed to write after every session: it is very important part of the learning, because in such way you rethinking all the ideas, learning experience.
It was great to be encouraged to start every morning with positive ideas.
It was nice to meet new people - the course group was great as well.
And much more great things...
Thank you, Rita!

These courses have been extremely helpful to me. This is primarily because it has fostered a deep understanding of the importance of internationalism in educating and preparing students for life. Our school has a wide variety of activities related to international topics (projects, extracurricular events, university contacts, etc.), but these activities are more of an episodic, fragmentary. As a school principal, I came up with some very clear and simple ideas on how to develop an internationalization strategy that would include these activities, how to help the school project team develop projects, look for partners, organize activities. And most importantly, how to integrate internationalization as a global theme and challenge into school life. I really liked the well-organized learning: the prepared material helped me to prepare for the topic of the day, then to go deeper again, the active tasks encouraged the ideas I heard to be rethought and based on my own experience. The material will be very useful in developing and implementing internationalization policies at school. Very well organized learning time: discussing key ideas, taking time to prepare your presentation, discussing general remarks, in the evening each participant writes a day's reflection, we can all read, and supplement our thoughts with peer observations. Thank for colleges, which we were together all two weeks. The warm, humane, informal contact of course director Rita is another special experience… THANKS. Well, of course, the unique culture, nature, people of Guadeloupe... Amazing! Would definitely recommend the courses to educators, which I know.

What have I learned on this course?

This course has most of all clarified and organized my ideas, and given new information, about internationalization work in schools: the theory behind it, reasons, goals, methods, structure, possible activities. It will be very helpful when we plan and build up our future international projects in my organization.
I also learned about this beautiful island, its history and present, nature and people. This was priceless, and a perfect platform to work around internationalization and global citizenship.
And I got to meet and know many wonderful people: Rita, our teacher, and coursemates from three different European countries; our driver Michel, our drum teacher William, and many other warm and beautiful people on the island.
I learned how to drum a few Caribbean rhythms, too. This was my favourite session, therefore the group photo with drums.

This course gave me real insights into the culture and nature of Guadeloupe. The nature and culture of Guadeloupe is so colorful as the topic itself. Thus, it is a perfect surrounding for getting deeper into the topic of internationalization. The combination of theory and practical activities has been chosen very well and varied and that enables us to go back to our schools very motivated for further international projects. To become a global citizen means to keep his own roots and to enrich them through respect, tolerance and communication with people, regardless of their origin and culture. As a teacher we have the responsibility to enable our students to become such a global citizen.

The course organisation by Rita was very professional. The choice of the outdoor classrooms like the rain forest or the beach garden or just the beach was just perfect. Thank you very much and also thanks to Michel and all the other people who made the insight into the Guadeloupian culture possible.

what I learnd in the course was a lot. At the beginning I don´t have had a clear idea what it could be. Now I´m realy inspired. Internationalizing is a very big theme. It contents a lot. The course informed me about skills like language, music and what culture contains. For me it was interesting that internationalizing is nothing you can do theoretical or that it is new and necessary to do, because we have to take part of our students from other countries. Yes this is one part. But the other part is that it is still working and also in the history has worked. So it is our life and we have to complete it in the following. By this it is possible to use the experts around us. All the students and parens and other cooperative partners.
Let´s do!

This was the first time for me to be on a course with Erasmus. The experience I had I will never forget. The course was well organised and gave a good view of the contents. Because of the the possibility for interaction in different communication systems, questions that arose could be cleared directly. The course had a fine composition of theoretical input and practical experience. The field trips I found very inspiring. The strength of the course for one is the inside knowledge of Rita and the good connections she has to the residents. If one event she had planned couldn't take place there was always a plan B or even C. The experience I had on this course gave me a new few on Internationalisation on which I can follow up on.
Futher more I find the course booklet very helpful.
I enjoyed the course a lot. As well because we where a really nice group of people from different parts of Europe.
Thank you Rita.
