I can usually prevent myself from buying a singular high-priced item, but I run into trouble when I find a bunch of cute, relatively inexpensive items. I think it's important to be aware and in control of the amount you spend each month; it will force me to be more responsible with my money.

It was more subconsciously thinking of whether spending a certain amount of money was equivalent to the joy I would have with the toy
-Elementary School Age: For awhile, I attempted to do chores, and my parents attempted to incentivize me with money. They "discussed" and "considered" my opinion on what I thought was a fair amount
-Teenage Years: Making decisions on whether I should spend my money on clothes, or how much money I should when going out to eat with friends. I sometimes choose the decision that is more economically logical, then what I would (on impulse) enjoy. 
-Now: I must make a decision about where I want to attend college. A big part of that decision deals with the cost of the institution, and whether the more expensive schools are really worth it in the end.
