         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Many people are killed in avalanches in the Alps every year.<br><br>In order to stay safe we often rely on information gained from avalanche bulletins and applications such as White Risk.<br><br>How do we know that this information is reliable?<br><br>Why are we willing to trust this information when the consequences of it not being correct are so high?<br><br>Should we question more carefully the definitions of some of the terms used?<br><br>Should we ski outside of resort at all?<br><br>Activity:<br><br>Students could come up with their own danger scale and definitions. Should this be based on experience or research?<br><br>Students must justify why they should be allowed to go powder skiing. <br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
