Thank you so, so, much for pouring your hearts into making this module an impactful and memorable one for each of us. Beyond all the strategies gleaned like SBA, MLEA, SR etc (as well as the thoughtful gesture of bringing in guest speakers to share their experiences, oh and FOOD😍), you have walked the talk and shown us what the joy of teaching/facilitation of knowledge in the Pri EL classroom looks like. ❤️ Grateful to have you. 🙌

We are truly honoured to have all of you as our bubbly and encouraging facilitators as you bring us a step closer to face the wonderful reality of immersing ourselves in the hustle and bustle of teaching English Language in a primary school!

I really appreciate your patience in being so reassuring in answering our 101 questions, and taking the time to address our concerns and sharing your valuable experiences when it comes to embarking on the journey of getting our students to acquire skills in the learning of English Language, while enjoying the language at the same time.

I am also inspired by the great camaraderie amongst yourselves, where you even dished out strands of murukku as a reward/threat depending on our performance, and I really look forward to learning more and asking more questions in the following session subsequently.

Thank you so so much for your yummy treat of apple pies, as well as the handy survival kits as our graduation gifts and well wishes for us!

First of all, THANK YOU for showing us exactly how leading a team should be- you made it such a safe environment for all of us to explore, especially as the 20+ of us grapple with feelings of anxiety and trepidation of beginning a whole new journey. You are both SO personable, sharing freely with us your real lives, making all of us, your students, feel so connected with you. You both stood united together to allay whatever fears we had, and for that, THANK YOU.

Kalpana, you're the epitome of a strong, confident teacher-leader that anyone should aspire to be. You know all the right 'stuff', but never, ever appeared overbearing and threatening, which made learning so, very easy (ok maybe not always easy, but at least less painful 😅). You carry yourself with so much charisma and elegance, with your gorgeous sarees, each time I saw you at workshops and meetings. Most of all, I aspire to be a cool, much-loved grandma like you one day! 💃💃💃

Charles, thank you for being such a gentle, nurturing teacher; I truly enjoyed all my sessions with you simply because you made it very clear that we're in a safe space by the way you spoke and treated every one of us. You made everyone feel included and genuinely cared for, and this is a reminder of what every teacher-leader should be. You are amongst the BEST Master Tcrs I've had the honour of working with and I really want to be like you when I grow up HAHAHA.

It has been such a blessing to be able to attend the EL CLDC course under the 3 of you. It was only a 9-day course but packed with so much learning, ideas, and positivity, all thanks to your detailed planning and genuine energy. It is indeed a big jump from secondary to primary school (more so for us who have never taught EL before!) but you always reassure us and confidently guide us through the pedagogies. I would recommend your course even for those not teaching EL/ still in secondary school because it is definitely a good refresher to rekindle the flames of teaching and learning. I’m so grateful for your kindness and sincerity.

Kalpana: Every morning I look forward to your upbeat voice welcoming us into the Zoom. I was on NPL this year, and like you, I also miss my students (me at 7.30am: “oh it’s flag-raising now…”). Your passion and energy is inspirational. 

Charles: Your calm presence means I need an extra cup of coffee after lunch haha. You will always patiently explain concepts to us and I truly appreciate all the hands-on activities and discussions you have for us!
