         <description><![CDATA[<p>NEWS UPDATE: “Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis” (RDANA) was conducted by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) recently to assess the degree of destruction caused by Super Typhoon Nando on Luzon as it exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).</p><p><br/></p><p>On PTV-4's "Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon," OCD Spokesperson Junie Castillo stated that the super typhoon is expected to have affected 159,000 people, or 44,000 families, from the Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA areas. </p><p><br/></p><p>"Mas tataas po itong numero na ito, lalo nga po na nakita natin na malakas po talaga iyong hangin at saka ibinagsak din na ulan nitong Bagyong Nando," Castillo added. </p><p><br/></p><p>Further reports stated that at least 10 homes were completely deteriorated by Nando, while 18 others were damaged partially. </p><p><br/></p><p>While Super Typhoon Nando left the PAR on Tuesday, Tropical Storm Opong (Bualoi) threatens the country to date. </p>]]></description>
