The person would want you to listen and hear their sadness, not to listen to your problems.

TOPIC : Don’t Multitasking
The point that I choose is “Don’t Multitasking”. Most of us really do believe that we can do more than one thing at once while some of us even look like we’re pretty good at it. But, it is a myth. It’s not really happening. Our brain can really only focus on one thing at a time. For me, I’ll tell that multitasking can affect our communication as some of us may fail on the focusing process. When we think we are multitasking, we are actually stopping, then switching our attention from task to task. To communicate well, we need to focus exclusively on who we are communicating with. When we are communicating with someone, take the time to fully focus on the conversation. It will provide for greater understanding and meaning.

So don't ever compare own story with them or start to advice unnecessarily unless being asked for. It's importance to realize that human life experiences can be different from each other and it's better to be just a listener sometimes which can make the opposite person feels relieved and comfortable sharing the thoughts.

For an example like when someone is talking to us and we are doing other work like writing, reading, playing gadjets and etc.

This is because, I found out that this kind of attitude looks like we don’t respect them. Also, while doing other work our brain actually not giving 100% to that person and focusing on their words. People talk to us or share their thoughts with us becuase they want someone to listen and give opinion, so if we didn't put our focus on them, they will surely feel sad and turn-off from not sharing with us anymore.

Other than that, if I talk when someone is giving a speech, I won’t learn anything from the conversation since I did not give attention towards them. The benefits of doing this is that we can gain respect from the others, understand a certain topic and promotes a better conversation.

#Listen
Listening is the most important thing in a conversation. If you not listen to a certain topics in a conversation, it may leads to misunderstanding. Before you wanted argue or ask about something, you should have the ability to listen effectively to the person first. We also get distracted very easily when we can listen at about 500 words per minute and the average person speaks at 225. Listening takes effort and energy and is completely crucial for a great conversation. If you can’t then you’re simply just two people shouting out barely related sentences in the same place.

Besides, sometimes they just want someone to listen to their worries and be present with them instead of going on about what type of actions they are supposed to do when in a certain situation.

One of Celeste's points that I agree with and can relate to the most is multitasking. Avoiding multitasks during conversations will improve our conversation. For example, when our friends need someone to talk to and s/he choose you but you are not focusing completely on them or multitask (playing phones etc), they will feel unimportant and probably feel like their opinion doesn't matter.

In this 21st century world, it is actually a very good effort for someone to have a make a conversation with us. Thus, we need to completely focus on them. We also don't like when people, not 100% focus on our conversation, so we should not do that to others :)

Avoid Repetition
As the speaker said, when you repeat something in a conversation, it is likely because you want to emphasise a point. However, forcing a point across is not having a conversation, it is giving an instruction. Conversations should be a two-way street where both parties express things and both parties listen. One person telling the other to do as they say is not a proper conversation, as the "instruction-giver" is not listening.

The point I choose was don't multitask. Whereby in this growing tendency of us being physically present but emotionally and mentally absent from each other keeps us from feeling close and connected. Sometimes being fully focused and concentrating one at a time shows full attention to the presence, although people are fond of bragging about how well they multitask, in truth our multitasking keeps us from doing anything with full attention. Often we wind up doing many things poorly. Simple as that, works will be done properly and a communication will improve if we gave each person their separate time aand attention.

Basically, understanding a person's objectives and needs relies mainly on the process of active listening. It also enables us to comprehend how we can improve people's satisfaction levels. In a nutshell, active listening is the practise of effectively listening and then reacting. These are frequently follow-up questions to ensure whether one is fully comprehend what the speaker is saying.

Technology has reduced the amount of face-to-face interaction or the number of actual telephone conversations that people have. During texting, we cannot able to understand what's people face expression all, I know that it is much easier to send a quick text rather than to engage in a phone call.
4. Relationships are built when serve them more effectively through personal interactions such as eye contacts, face expression.
5. Technology filters out important parts of communication, namely non-verbal communication. Although there are video calls, there is still a difference between having a conversation with someone in person where you can look at them in the eye, and having one online where you and they can filter out any sign of disinterest.

Positive effects:
1. The use of technology in communication is preferable as where it is much useful during this pandemic days nowadays. Such as using technology as one of the communication tools to stay connected.
2. Technology can be useful for our daily essential uses, such as ordering food through online delivery method, paying bills and etc without communicating verbally.

Pros:
1. There will be no barriers. Communication, for example, will be simple in situations where we need to express something urgently to someone by cell phones and emails which come in useful.
2. Long distance communication
3. Easy to share information with a large group of people (the video)

CONS:
1.The cons of using technology in communication is that it reduces face to face interaction. The increase of communication through text messages, emails etc will reduce physical communication skills especially to younger generations. . Each person has a mobile phone, and people start to focus on what happens in various software on the mobile phone, and talk about what happens on the mobile phone but talk about what happens around them. But, it impacts the interpersonal communication where today's generation lacks the ability to express the ideas and thoughts to others face-to-face
2.Cell phones and mobile phones enable us to stay connected even when we away from the computers. While this may be beneficial, particularly in an emergency situations but, it can also be a dangerous distraction. This is because hundreds and thousands of people suffer injuries in accidents involving a distracted driver, and texting and cell phone users

Advantages of workplace communication:
- Improves worker productivity: Any issues or problems faced by workers can be resolved faster if they are able to easily communicate with others in the workplace, thus improving productivity.
- Increases employee job satisfaction: People feel satisfied when their work is acknowledged. Positive communication in the workplace is necessary for acknowledgement to be shown.
- Positive effects on absenteeism and turnover rates: Workplace communication allows positive relationships to be made between all employees and employers, creating company loyalty and reducing absenteeism and turnover rates.

Disadvantages of workplace communication:
- "Snowball effect" on worker action: If one worker is dissatisfied, they can use other workers as an outlet to share their dissatisfaction, and this can lead to multiple workers taking action against the employer and or company.
- Can lead to worker burnout or overload information: Excessive amounts of communication can lead to workers feeling burdened with extra things to attend to, which will then reduce productivity.

Honor your commitments

With a topic as expansive as professionalism, it can be difficult to know where to start when it comes to your own workplace habits and practices. Curameng says that following through with your commitments can be pivotal. “You can meet every other facet of professionalism, but if you don’t honor your commitments and get your job done, none of it will matter,” she explains.

2. Be attentive, responsive and proactive

It may sound simple, but one of the most effective ways to display professionalism is to show that you’re invested enough to pay attention. This might mean taking notes during meetings, asking relevant questions or even just using responsive body language. Curameng maintains that if you don’t follow these basics of office etiquette, you may appear bored, distant or aloof. That could send a message to those around you that you don’t value what’s being shared.

3. Get to know the workplace culture

The general work culture will often change from company to company. That’s why it’s important to learn as much as you can about the cultural norms whenever you start a new position. Determining the right workplace attire is a good example.

4. Keep personal matters to a minimum

Because the overall goal of workplace etiquette is to be respectful of your organization and your coworkers, you’ll want to avoid things that might interfere with anyone’s productivity.

5.
