Pin Hole Images

I used a shoe box to create my pin hole camera. My first pin hole image came out very nice and i was pleased with the result because the exposer time was perfectly timed and the weather was well judged so therefore the image came out nice. it was a sunny day so my exposer time was 20 seconds. This image turned out to be one of the best one in the whole class and it did go the way I wanted it to go because the timing was perfect, I knew it was pretty sunny weather so I set my timer to 20 seconds. The timing for the developer, fixer and stop was also bang on time. I had a timer and this helped me to leave my work piece in each tray for a specific and accurate time. the time for developer was 1 minute and 30 seconds, 30 seconds for the fixer and 4 minutes for the fixer.
The second image was bad comparing to the first one and there are few reasons to that; first of all I did the second piece on a different day to the one I did first. The weather was between overcast and cloudy. it gave me a tough time to jugde and decide the right exposer time. i exposed it for 1 minute and 40 seconds and the outcome wasnt want i wanted to achieve. i over exposed it to light because i miss read the weather. i wanted to capture an image of the car which was parked there. the timing for the chemical process is right but because i overexposed and because i faced the pin hole towards sun and more light went inside and affected the paper therefore i didnt achieve what i wanted. this could be improved by reducing the exposer time and reading the weather well.
the third image was again over exposed enough though it wasn't facing sun this time but i left it for 1 minute and 30 seconds. i also misskept the time when the sensitive paper was inside the developer. i think it over delepoed and was also overexposed causing the paper to completely go dark and no image was captured. i think i need to work more on reading the weather well and keep good eyes on the timing. i also think i was lucky on the first time.

Different ISO WITH SHEILA

100 ISO
We experimented different types of ISO in a digital camera with Sheila and here we can see big difference in the pictures taken. the first one is the 100 ISO and therefore the image is dark, I allowed less light to enter the camera by changing the ISO to 100. this created a nice and dark detailed image. Because the ISO was too low it did not capture an autumn image it is more like spring because the leaves and the trees looks very dark and fresh. this could be improved and worked on by changing the ISO. I changed the ISO to 400 and captured a yellowish colour in trees. this really inspired me and shocked me because an ISO can do so much, it can change autumn to summer and make it look so dark and greenish. when I changed the ISO to 400 the camera was more exposed and therefore more light went inside producing a lighter image and this is what I was looking for. The ISO was increased to 800 to seeif I could get a better image but I think 800 was much more and its an overexposed ISO for taking an autumn image. the weather on that day was overcast and i changed the white balance to overcasst so that i could capture the right image and for that i need the right settings.
with the 800 ISO the top of the tree looked like it had snow on it and thats because more light went inside the camera creating brighter image.

In conclusion i would say out of the three images my second image was much closer to what i was asked to do and i am pretty pleased with the results.

Photograms we used a special machine that had fluorescent light and thats how the sensitive paper was exposed to light after putting objects on top of the paper.
This is my photogram work and you can see the images and the improvements. the first photogram did not come out nice the way i wanted it to come and the main reason behind this was because the developer was old which means it was weak and it did not delevope the photogram very well because i removed it after 1 minute and 30 seconds because i tought it was a new developer. after my first attempt and seeing that i didnt achieve the result i wanted i thought i should change the developer and make a new one because i knew my exposer time was 8 seconds which was right and thats what everyone timed it to.
After changing the developer, my other two images came out dark and from this proved to me that i was a problem with my developer and i overcome this problem and ahcieved much better results.

We had to experiment different types of ISO at the same place without moving the camera around and capturing the same image with different ISO to see and understand its effects. By trying out different ISO I understood that when my ISO goes higher it means I am allowing more light and exposing it more to light and that's why the image comes out much whiter. the logic behind this is that the higher the ISO the brighter the image and the lower the ISO the darker and the more realistic the image will come out.

Even at 100 ISO my image came out brighter and the reason for that was because we took the pictures in college's balcony and the camera was angled more towards the sun, taking in more light and brightening the image.
this could be improved next time by focusing the camera in angle away from the sun and maybe also to change the white balance because it your camera is not set to the right white balance you wont get the image you are looking for. We did not have a target we just had to try out different types of ISO and see the difference.

My theme was fun and to get that i had to try out differnt white balance to get and image with orangesh colour. i used shade, cloudy and sunny to get different coloured images. after experimenting the different white balances i finally was able to capture the right image i was looking for. first i captured images with blue colour which was watery colour. it looked great but however it wasn't the right colour to show my theme and my chosen mood which was fun. fun is more like orangesh colour and after changing my white balance and changing the ISO i managed to get the perfect image I was looking for. the first image was taken with 100 ISO and it came out very dark so i had to change the ISO and release more light and that way after my second attempt the third image was what i was looking for.
