Effectiveness of the American strategy in the battle: The Continental Army did use Guerrilla Warfare since they knew the locations and they learned the tactics from the French and Indian War. They were also knocking down trees and blocking Burgoyne's path to slow down the British. So by the time Burgoyne's and his men got to Fort Edward they were already low on supplies. Washington felt that a big battle was coming up so he sent troops north and put spread the word that any Militia that was able to join the troops should. This lead to more troops ready and militia gathered for Saratoga.

Effectiveness of the British strategy in the battle: The Divide and Conquer strategy that Burgoyne had was to invade America from Canada then move down to the Hudson Valley to Albany. Then he would meet Howe and other British troops. Howe would be bring in troops from north New Jersey and New York City. Burgoyne thought that this would create isolation to the colonies. However, Howe did not meet with Burgoyne and isolate any colonies, especial New England. He went to Philadelphia instead. All in all, it would have been a better strategy if it was carried out, but is was not. Making it not effective.

Washington was able to gather more people and Arnold even fought a long side his people. The leaders presented good strategy and tactics that lead them to victory.

Effectiveness of British leadership in the battle: The British leadership was in the right mindset but it needed help being executed. This was because they formed two other advances and where stopped both times by the American troops. The leader, Burgoyne, never thought about running out of supplies. Or Howe not meeting up with him to carry out the plan. Burgoyne could have been more of an effective leader in this battle if he he had supplies, and his original plan did follow through.

Effectiveness of the American use of resources: The Americans used what they were given, meaning that during the fight they would use the trees to hide behind and to protect themselves. Since the American troops had a hard time with other resources, they would make due with what they had already. They also did not have very many troops because the size of the country was so small at this point.

Effectiveness of the British use of resources: British troops did the exact opposite of the American troops. They had thousands and thousands of troops at their disposal and where able to do anything that they pleased with them. They did not use the trees and such to protects them and they stayed in a neat and tight fashion that exposed them to the firing American troops. They were not short on supplies like the Colonist were, they could ask for something and it would be given to them without question. On the journey they ran out of supplies and had to send for some more. However, it would take a while to reach them.
