To begin using Edmodo with parents I wanted to post a student project. I sent home a homework called, Turkey in Disguise (that related to a book we read) as a family fun homework. When the students brought back their turkeys we used the app, ChatterPix, to give the turkey a voice. Hilarious.

I use the Educreations with my Lucy Clkins writing units. My students can create "How To" Books and share them through Educreations. They love viewing their presentations

We were doing a STEM day with ice. The students were trying to melt colored ice with three different substances. We used Pic Collage to create a record of their results.

My students are creating 30 Hands presentations to teach others a concept about air (our current focus in science). They had to begin with the end in mind (habit 2) by creating a plan with their partner that included their learning objective, their presentation title, and whether they would take a picture or draw. After their plan was approved, they were able to start their presentations. This activity not only reinforces their learning in science, but also helps them apply the 7 Habits.

We have been working on informational writing. We brainstormed topic ideas and then each child created a pic collage of something they wanted to write about They could do pictures and words....a quick brainstorm before writing.

I made a video using our spelling words and sorting them into the two long O patterns. The students watch the video before practicing their word work for the day. The two patterns are "oa" and "ow" so I explained when it's appropriate to use each pattern.

We have made a few presentations using Chatterpix. The kids love this app and are highly engaged. I was able to use their presentation as an assessment of their knowledge of attributes.

We have been practicing letter names/sounds, blending of words, and sentence writing for our

Phonics instruction in Bookshop. The app that works best for this is Show Me.

We are using QR codes to take kids to Padlet to find the phonics chart we are doing for the day. They then partner read the chart during Daily 5. Engagement is high because of use of the iPad.

We LOVE Kahoot! This is a great way to review math concepts. We found quizzes on base 10, story problems, graphs, money and time.
