         <description><![CDATA[<div>Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was a British writer and physician, creator of the celebrated fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. He was a prolific author whose work includes stories of science fiction, historical novel, theater and poetry. Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was born May 22, 1859 at number 11 of Picardy Place, in the city of Edinburgh, Scotland.4 He belonged to an Irish Catholic family that had provided several illustrators and caricaturists, among which his grandfather John Doyle6 and three uncles of Arthur: the illustrator Richard Doyle, who designed the cover and head of the magazine Punch, 7 the antiquarian James Doyle and Henry E. Doyle, director of the National Gallery of Ireland.7
