The increase in militarism helped push the countries involved into war.
Alliances:The nations had been making alliances.The alliances would promote peace. Each country
would be protected by others in case of war.  
Imperialism:Imperialism is when a country increases their power and wealth by bringing additional territories under their control.The increasing competition for greater empires led to an increase in helped to push the world into World War I.
Nationalism: The causes of the war included such forces as nationalism, or pride in one’s country.
