Tolerance

The world has gone through tough times and it is hard to keep track of all the tolerance some people had to have to even survive things that should have never happened and things that are now socially unacceptable like a mass genocide. The Holocaust is a great example because it should have never happened and it was a terrible things, but some people like Elie Wiesel and Anne Frank. Elie survived the holocaust because he held his head up high and did everything to be there for his father until he passed away. After his father passed he still survived and was liberated by the Allied forces. Anne Frank did not survive the holocaust because she died by a disease the week before the concentration camp she was at got liberated but her father found her diary. He looked back at the diary to how much tolerance and optimism she had at only an age of 13 and he was “put to shame” because at an older age he did not think people were good at heart.

Anne Frank quotes are used to explain tolerance because her experience with the holocaust and being crammed in with 7 others is a great visual of it.

“Whoever is happy will make others happy too.”

Think of all the beauty still around you and be happy.”

“I keep my ideals, because in spite of everything, I still believe people are still good at heart.”

These quotes are good at showing that the character Annika Frank’s optimism even in the toughest times were her and her family were struggling to survive yet she kept an excellent mindset.
