On the other hand, the confederate states most likely knew it was coming(because technically they started it and may have got a warning from South Carolina), but after those 90 days, they were surprised that the war was over. If I was a citizen, I'm not sure what side I'd be on, how I'd feel, or what I'd do. Although I'd probably not be happy about a war. I don't think anyone would! (well, that's not exactly right. I would feel worried because what if I lost something I loved or someone I loved? What would happen if my family got broken up? I would be unsure because I wouldn't know what side to act on. Furthermore, I think the citizens felt the same way I would. They had to be very cautious just in case something unexpected happened. They would probably feel unsure, unsafe, and worried. If I was there when war was going on I would feel worried and scared about how the war would end, even if it is our side that wins or looses. I would feel a little insecure of what is going on and wonder why this happened and how can we make something go on that could be a difference. Family's would be worried and said if one of their family members were fighting for their believes. I would like to interview someone who was a citizen in that time to ask how they felt. We need to be thankful that we have freedom right now and we have choices to make for ourselves.
