You need something.
In this hour, you will share your expertise in some very specific area (downloading class rosters from Skyward and then using sheets to generate random groups, for example). You might create a screencast or slideshow, be interviewed by a colleague, or write a help sheet. This gets posted to Bainbridge Connects/OneSmallThing.
The second part of the session is devoted to problem of practice brainstorming. Each participant will describe a problem of practice, and then see where they may have expertise to share. The moderator will create groups of three or four to then work on problems of practice. They might choose to use a protocol like those attached. Results of the brainstormings are then also posted to Bainbridge Connects in a Q & A format so the knowledge is shared. Collaborative Problem-Solving protocol, Wise Crowds

Next year we will have students in our classrooms that are entering at many different levels. Some of the best tools in our tool belt such as small groups and individual differentiated tasks will require students to be much stronger self directed learners than they currently are. Like any other skill in the classroom, students have to be taught how to be good self directed learners. This session will help teachers to utilize routines, scaffolds, and reflection to help students become stronger self directed learners.

The importance of prerequisite strategies for filling in those gaps students have in order to be successful with the lesson and using technology sparingly to be efficient with self directed learning, executive functioning coaching, while making your workload manageable.
