         <description><![CDATA[<p>Tools/Resources</p><ol><li><p>Contribution Approach: Implementing diverse content from various cultures. E.g. hero's, holidays, critical events, and other concepts (Banks, 1997). </p></li><li><p>Additive Approach: Including literature and materials from different cultures into lessons and curriculum without effecting the goals and objectives (Banks, 1997).  </p></li><li><p>Transformation Approach: Changing the foundational structure of the curriculum to ensure all students can comprehend the concepts, challenges, key events, and viewpoints of multiple cultures (Banks, 1997). </p></li><li><p>Social Action Approach: Encourages student participation outside of just learning about different cultures but using decision making skills and actions within their communities (Banks, 1997). </p><p><br></p><p>Resource: Banks, J. and Banks, C., eds.          <title> Culturally Responsive Teaching Methods</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Culturally Responsive teaching is an approach that relate students' cultures, viewpoints, and languages to the lessons/class. The diversities help students connect and have deeper understandings of the content (Vigil, n.d.). </p><p><br/></p><p>Resource: Vigil, K. <em>Understood: What is Culturally Responsive Teaching. </em><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.understood.org/en/articles/what-is-culturally-responsive-teaching">What is culturally responsive teaching?</a></p><p><br/></p><p>Methods that acknowledge and utilize students' cultural backgrounds in teaching and learning processes: </p><ol><li><p>Providing multicultural content and resources to students. Specifically include the cultures and backgrounds of the students in your class. </p></li><li><p>Reflect and review curriculum to see where you can implement cultural events or connections to help students relate to lessons. </p></li><li><p>Encourage pair or group discussions about individual beliefs and viewpoints.</p></li></ol><p>Strategies for Adapting Teacher Styles: </p><ol><li><p>Giving student autonomy with projects and assignments. Allowing students to choose what kind of project to do will showcase their strengths. Teachers can encourage students to use their culture or background to connect and support their project (University of San Diego, 2025).</p></li><li><p>Peer to peer teaching.          <title>Fostering a Multicultural Classroom Environment</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Creating an inclusive classroom: </p><ol><li><p>Integrate Diversity: have different cultural visuals, materials, language/translations for your students (Connolly, 2024). </p></li><li><p>Foster a safe space for students to openly discuss feelings, thoughts, and differing perspectives (Connolly, 2024). </p></li><li><p>Teach and model active listening and respectful responses (Connolly, 2024). </p></li><li><p>Allow students to celebrate their culture by having a cultural day with different foods. Teachers can celebrate specific holidays their students would like to celebrate in class. At the beginning of the year teachers can give students an introduction project where they can feel free to share information on their background and/or cultures (Connolly, 2024). </p></li><li><p>Avoid assumptions/stereotypes/biases. Also using inclusive language (Connolly, 2024). </p></li><li><p>Set the classroom up in a way they promote engagement and accessibility to resources to all students (Connolly, 2024). </p></li></ol><p>Resource: Connolly, M.          <title>Engagement with Families and Community</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Involving families and community: </p><ol><li><p>Service-learning projects: Students and community can come together to serve the community whether through cleaning up a park or having a food drive (Staake, 2024). </p></li><li><p>Culture night: The school can organize a night where families and students come to the school and showcase their traditions/culture through food, music, dances, ect (Staake, 2024).  </p></li><li><p>Multicultural speakers: Schools can get diverse guest speakers to come and discuss their lives and cultural identity with students in the school (Staake, 2024).</p></li><li><p>Workshops for families/parents: A workshop that encourages parents to understand the importance and effects culture has on students. Teachers' parents about cultural differences, challenges of bias, and how to support a multicultural class (Staake, 2024).</p><p>Resource: Staake, J.
