         <description><![CDATA[<div>House of Representatives had to choose the winner out of the top 3 candidates.&nbsp; Henry Clay was eliminated because he received the 4th most votes. He did have a say in who becomes president though because he was the speaker of the House. He was able to convince the House to elect John Quincy Adams as President. Clay then became Secretary of State. The people thought it was unfair (corrupt bargain) bc Andrew Jackson won the popular vote</div>]]></description>

Jackson wanted to move the Indians so the Americans can have more space. More than 100,00 Indians had to move west of the Mississippi and many Indians died from this forced movement because of the travelling being harsh.  </div>]]></description>

Bank war erupted when Daniel Webster and Henry Clay gave Congress a bill to renew the bank's charter. He felt that if Jackson signed off<strong> </strong>on the bill, then Jackson would alienate the people<strong> </strong>of the West who hated the Bank.  If Jackson<strong> </strong>vetoed the bill, then he would alienate the wealthy class of the East<strong> </strong>who supported the Bank.</div>]]></description>
