These effects can vary greatly from the psychological impacts to the physical impacts caused by these crimes. The concept of this violence on the Gold Coast has unknowingly installed fear and paranoia into our youth and has adapted itself into a lifestyle. This lifestyle has affected the way adolescents  live it has prevented them from walking around suburbs such as Southport or Surfers Paradise. Although the psychological affects that are detrimental to how the youth functions in a societal environment the physical impacts from these terrible acts of violence are much more worse. The aspect of physical impacts among our youth are based on the fact that these innocent and naïve teens are claimed victims of these attacks such as coward punch and/ or stabbing. These attacks have detrimental life effects on teens. An example of these damaging situations are the life threatening injuries caused due to it. Young people are often the victims of violence be it in school yard scuffles which spill out into their private lives or more serious assaults at parties and entertainment precincts. This impacts them in that they can be hurt seriously which will impose on their future due to serious injuries. One punch attacks can lead to acquired brain injuries which will leave a young person permanently impaired meaning a loss of opportunity in the future in terms of their financial stability (in that they may end up on a disability pension or not be able to study further or work in their chosen field). A serious injury can also impose on their independence as young adults in that they may have to live at home and with the support of families and loved ones.
