I don’t know if I am being naïf but I´ve been thinking how could we bring this training course in to "our house", in terms of certified training and recognized in Portugal and in other countries educational systems standards... How to replicate learning, creating much needed resources such as learning information and Learning Designers in different languages, for example, or Rubrics with our own country subjects goals, or translate videos, articles, resources...(Is this a PBL project for School Education Gateway???)

I liked very much this PBL course, I like that our students became critic, clever men or women, they have competences, self confidence...

It would be good to have a PBL platform, organised by subjects where we could share PBL ideas and plans. I know this is the way to go, but having less and less time for lesson planning and more and more time for paper work is a hindrance to PBL.

Unfortunately this year I had to teach a group which contained a fair proportion of listless, unmotivated students in a compulsory class. It wasnt’t easy to motivate, engage them and have always a smile on my face.

Fortunately with this course, the tips from our peers, the moderators evolving and inspiring me to become a better teacher, a better person.

As some one said even if we’re over-worked, under pressure and underpaid – it isn’t the students’ fault.

Project-based learning is the way because of the dynamic classroom approach in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges and acquire a deeper knowledge. They will be the doers of their own knowledge; they will learn by doing – what I’ve been doing through this course.

How wonderful it was to enrol in this course. This course reminded me that what I have been doing with my students can be improved and lead them to a more iindependent work, improve their critical mind and collaborative work. PBL is rather a unique experience for students and teachers as well.
It is necessary to focus on a topic attractive for teenagers and in my opinion it is significant to have a multifaced PBL. I wonder if flip classroom and PBL can be together in my class... I understand in flip classroom students are exposed to new materials before the class (outside, at home) and then we work in the class the project applying or reflecting on this ideas . How can we do that if we work on neighborhoods with few resources and less opportunities (without many computers or without any parents help in many cases?) .
Another question: I think to "flip" the role of our students in our classroom need a strong preparation , deepen in group cohesion and helping them to work together first, but we have been working in a "traditional" way for years... The role of the students must be active, with responsability in their own learnng process, giving ideas... What happens if they need more help and the group is not enough help to them? How can we work with the students who are not "engaged" in the project, who are not participating or are not interested in contribute in the common goal?

I didn’t know the PBL approach and flip education before now, but perhaps I discover that I used it a little but I am not sure. I want to report my experience briefly.
I did different work about a story The Ugly duckling in collaborative way with the foreign kids. My kids from Comiso listened to the story, I played the recording of the voice of Merano’s children, then my children read the story in Italian, I asked them driving questions such as: Why do they make fun of the ugly duckling?…and others questions.They are children of six years old, but they understood because they knew the story from the kindergarten so they understood the topic. They act out improvising the story in Italian and a little English at the end they sang a song Different-equal. My kids sew the drawing of Turkish children on the the story The Ugly Duckling.
At a certain point after two months of work I put together the work of my children and the work of foreign kids in a presentation Prezi. Then after two months I showed them the process through the presentation Prezi. I think it is important to review the work done, to reflect on the work done, and this has been a big example to compare with foreign kids it was an occasion to understand what the diversity is.
My questions are: Can this experience be an example of flip education? Or am I wrong?
Is flip learning used already countries? What have been the results?

PBL is great when students have enough skills, knowledge, state of mind to feel that their working together changed something for them and the others. PBL is a first step into real life solving problems issues. The difference between "little school projects" and a PBL is given by the specified techniques, beginning with the Question that must challenge so much human spirit that the aim to reach for to be smart,original, then the Learning Design proposed by a teacher openminded ,looking for progress, to solve a problem of life that has to work better after a PBL. I go on some courses and there are super (ad example Gamificación) . I only want to thanks for the opportunity that INTEF gave and gives. I feel close to PBL approach in my teaching style. Just some doubts about the large amount of time it requires. It's quite difficult to manage my 2 hours a week and carry out such demanding teaching learning activities. I think it needs more hours in contiguous days to keep students motivated and involved. Maybe the solution is reaching to implement (finally) interdisciplinarity and team teaching in our schools, setting a project whose driving question calls into question more subjects. There is still a long way to go!

I think PBL is a very good teaching technique and I would like to use it as much as possible. The main problem I see is that I have two lectures a week and at the final year students are asked to pass a national exam requiring some standard content. I am very doubtful concerning the possibility to train my students on a so wide range of topics in order to pass the final exam, if I adopt PBL.

There is a real conflict between standardized final exams and the PBL?

In Portugal, in secondary education, the students of 15 to 17 years have very long school programs, and teachers are struggling to teach all the content needed for final exams. Even using the traditional teaching, time is always in short supply for a pedagogical poor education. If we insist on introducing the PBL in a
class of 25 students, the driving question makes room for creativity and that's
good. But I'm afraid the time spent listening to ideas for all students, do
not allow to fulfill the programs. For example, in subjects such as math, it
seems to me that we cannot expect students discover how to solve equations.
There is a real conflict between standardized final exams and the PBL?

I have really appreciated this course because I have known and experimented new tools I can use in my teaching. The PBL approach gives teacher s the possibility to implement learning activities where students learn activitily and teachers are facilitators. I'm going to use PBL next school year and I would like to have some advice on how to use it to teach English. My students are11-14.Thanks a lot!

I teach English in a secondary school and I have really liked this PBL course.Well,I think PBL works if it is shared by most teachers of the same class, it should be an interdisciplinary project which requires students to be more responsible and autonomous.So the younger students are the better. Is it right?

I'd ask Maria if she has any recommendations regarding resolving conflicts among students during PBL or getting stuck at some point of the project because students haven't gained enough knowledge at an earlier point. And, what if the students' product is scarce and not at all up to the standards? Thanks.

Thank you very much for the video about the webinar (I missed it).
It was very inspiring, interesting and motivating. Now my challenge as a teacher is to let my students become my champions.
I'll try to face them with a challenge, guide them with a learning mission, provide them with resources and tools so that they can produce digitally connected outcomes.
The last important point I'm going to focus on is ASSESSMENT: I'll try to make it as a part of a learning mission.
Now it's time for me to reflect on the following questions :
How to implement PBL in my classes?
How to organise learning spaces to flip students?
How to become a connected teacher?
