In the text we see the sister become horrified at the sight of Gregor: "she became so frightened that she lost control of herself and slammed the door shut again" (Kafka 10). Furthermore, the sister's love and attention she provides to Gregor in such a strange circumstance shows her comforting tone towards others. Gregor states that he witnesses her "picked [a dish] up immediately" after he had been done eating (Kafka 11). She diligently looked after her brother, despite her longing to run away from him.
