While the Native Americans depended on nature the colonists developed established settlements and created full functioning cities.The colonists seemed to name their colonies based on a previous name. (New York named after the duke of York, Pennsylvania- named after William Penn). Throughout their society it was common to have a slave and their society was not great. It was so bad it led to slave revolts . One other main fact I noticed was often settlements were built by the rivers. The English also were selective on where to establish their settlements in order to make use of the surrounding land. As for regional differences one great example was slavery. The north were against slavery while the south were okay with slavery. This also affected how their lifestyles were.
