The worst parts of my life were the physical and mental suffering I was forced to endure. I was made to completely get rid of my language, culture, religion, and overall identity. If I didn't follow their instructions, they would beat me and yell at me, some were even murdered. I have continued to have nightmares about it to this day.

As I got older, I went through other significant events, such as the Chinese Exclusion Act. Many poor Chinese families with barely anything came from such a long way just to get rejected due to their race. Some of them were Chinese-Canadian citizens who left to travel and had 12 months to come back; otherwise, they had to pay $500 or would be detained.

Then came a time when everyone was suffering. The Great Depression was such a significant event that it drove millions into poverty. Citizens barely had money to sustain themselves and their families. People relied mostly on planting and canned foods. Although it was a long time of struggling, the economy has since risen, and life has slowly been returning to normal.
After all that, I am now doing great and have my own family. I am working hard on raising my family and am hoping that they don't go through what I have.

I am horrified by the number of bodies and blood I have seen. The number of people I saw who were perfectly fine just days if not hours ago, now laying dead in their own blood. I and thousands of others were wounded badly while others were at the edge of death.
