I really like this picture because of how the camera angle/prospective is used to make the city look much more grander. this is the old city of Constantinople in modern day Istanbul turkey. I find this as the pinnacle of photography or at least up there because photography in its essence or so it seems to me is capturing something that is continuously changing so its meaning and importance and excellence amongst a plethora of other things are captured with it. Istanbul/this photo of it is just that because it shows the architecture of the old city that once was the capital city of the greatest empire to ever exist, the Roman Empire. Not only that but it also shows the continuous evolution of the city as it was conquered and subjugated by the likes of the ottomans and the Byzantines, sort of like a sedimentary rock the layers of culture are so clearly defined so maybe its just me but you sorta have no choice but to be kinda amazed.

I think this is a good picture because it captures the empty but familiar feeling of growing up. If you look close enough, you can almost hear the liveliness of what this scenery was. The laughing of children, the sound of running, the creaking of the swing. The bright colors reflect childhood, something that we should’ve cherished, something we took for granted.
