When the Britain immigrated here they had to fight over land with the French (France) and also the revolution with the U.S.A. and many other factors. Back then their were some slaves until the 1850's it stopped in Canada, but women's right was still not enforced. Another war would have happened with the Canadians and the Americans, since the american founded Manifest Destiny which was to take control of all land in BNA. The population growth rises as well from immigration, and birth rate.
