 After Rhett Butler left her ,Scarlett was left in charge .She had to bring Melanie ,her baby , Wade and the negroes back to Tara.She  heard soldiers  ,they had no food and they saw dead bodies and blood everywhere.Their horse was dying , he was old and the journey was exhausting.This scene is very sad 
When Scarlett arrived at Tara's ,she discovered that her mother died  a few days ago from typhoid  and that  her sisters had survived thanks to a Yankee doctor. Her father taught her everything: that the Yankees invided them ,that they stayed at their house and that all their cotton was gone, the Yankees burned it all in one big fire .
