They have a huge water crisis going on. This water crisis is affecting humans and any other living things in South Africa. In this research paper, I will be explaining some of the background of South Africa and what caused this water crisis. Water issues in any part of the world are the worst types of issues because we as living things need water the most to live.South Africa, a big beautiful country, a huge water crisis. Behind this major crisis going on South Africa is just like any other country. Unique culture, foods, religions, and landmarks. South Africa has four main cultures, Zulu, Ndebele, Xhosa, and Sotho are these cultures (cultures). Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, traditional African religions and Judaism are the religions that are mainly practiced in South Africa (religions). There is a lot to know about South Africa. South Africa is in the southernmost region of Africa. South Africa is a beautiful country with some poverty. The population of South Africa is 56.72 million.  One of the major conflicts that shaped South Africa happened in April of 1994. This was big because it was what made total independence of all. The two forms of government are the Constitutional republic and the Parliamentary Republic. Some types of traditions are dances. For example a Zulu dance. They do this dance to celebrate the upcoming ages and weddings. They eat a lot of Indian food such as curry. The main and favorite sport is rugby. A football like a game but a bit different (things to know). There is a downside to South Africa though.Just like everywhere in the world, South Africa has a major issue going on. The one that I chose was the water shortage. This issue is deadly because water is the biggest need for humans. There is known to be a day where they will officially run out of water called “day zero” (Day Zero). This all started a few years ago when the water started to get contaminated because of the pollution. This all caused rivers and dams too (water pollution). This problem affects the country because as I said water is the main natural resource that a human needs to survive. In Milwaukee, we have a lot of pollution that contaminates the water. I’m not sure how this started, couldn’t find anything but I know that we have a lot of factories near Lake Michigan that is where we get most of our water from. This affects the community because if someday there is too much contamination we can fall into a similar type of water drought. This issue needs to be prevented in the future, I can cause a lot of deaths in the world. We need to find a solution to this.Of course, something needs to be done to fix other problems around the world that have to do with lack or contamination of water. The best way to do that is with a charity organization that helps. I decided to make a charity that will be called “WATAM”. What this charity will do is make and set machines that dispense water in places like South Africa that don’t have much water like us. WATAM will cost one dollar and will be limited per family so that every family has a chance to get water. The machines will be set up at least 2-3 in every town so they will be reachable to everyone.  What WATAM wants to accomplish is people dying from dehydration. Some donations that would be helpful will be water (clean) and money to get more water and be able to build more machines. My city has a personal problem with a lot of contaminating the water mainly because we have a lot of factories near our lake which is our main source of water. WATAM would be an amazing charity because it won’t only help some places in the world it will help everywhere that has an issue with water. We all live in a country that has some sort of problem going on whether it is political or environmental or anything else. There are many different types of problems but imagine having to live without the most needed resource for any living thing. Water is something that we all need to survive. As you know by now, South Africa has a water crisis going on. My foundation of WATAM can help not only South Africa but everywhere else that has a water drought or a lot of pollution.
