Another thing that's caught my attention is that theres a difference between gentrification and climate gentrification. In the video it is explained that gentrification only relates to housing and it is harmful in a way it can tear apart the fabric and neighborhoods. Climate gentrification is more so about the risk and vulnerability. It refers to the ways that climate impacts and adaptations may contribute to changes in community and residents being vulnerable through changes of property values. It is sad that we are now learning and acknowledging this.What spoke to me was the fact that there has been no other city or district that has been committed to studying and understanding the issue. I picked this video because most of us wear synthetic fabrics like polyester everyday and i wanted to know what that video is all about. In the video, it is said that some companies when making polyester use plastic bottles. Which might have you thinking that this might be a good idea since its reducing the use of plastic and with using plastic they use it to turn things that we actually like. But what caught my eye was that theres a problem with this. When you wash synthetic fabrics tiny pieces of plastic that are called microfibers wash off and flow down the drain. The problem is that the fibers are so tiny that water treatment plants can't catch them all. So they wind up in rivers and oceans. Microfibers can harm the small aquatic organisms that ingest them and microfibers contain toxic chemicals which is why its so bad.What has me shocked is that theres a estimate of 1.4 trillion in our oceans right now.

For example, it is said that half of the world’s hospital beds are occupied by patients suffering from a water-related disease. Diseases from dirty water kills lots of people every year. It is shown in theworldcounts.com that every year 3,575,000 people die from water related diseases. When it comes to education clean water gives kids a chance to attend school and build a better future. To some restored health has meant the freedom to go to school. Access to clean water gives communities more time to grow food, earn an income, and go to school. These type of things shows that having clean water does impact everything.

The reason why was because the first thing that drew my attention was how visually appealing it is. I think the everything compliments the background very well. Not only is the layout of her padlet aesthetically pleasing but the content in her padlet is easy to understand. I like her choice of words, her style of writing, and the way she introduces the subject she chose. In addition,I really like the images she uses to illustrate her points in her post. It facilitates comprehension and visualization. For example, in her discussion about humanity she uses a picture of the earth being in flames for it to show of how close we as humanity will be in the near future if we keep being careless and how one little mistake can end the world. Her other posts like law of reflection and convergence are easy to understand because it explains what it is in the images itself as well.

Desalination is also very safe to drink and a lot of it is already being consumed both in the United States and abroad. It has become an increasingly important solution to provide fresh water to dry areas of the world where water scarcity is a major issue.The process of desalination involves several steps, including pre-treatment to remove impurities, membrane filtration to remove salt, and post-treatment to ensure the water is safe for consumption. At its best, desalination is an attractive technology: It takes a relatively abundant but unusable resource, seawater, and turns it into something useful for freshwater-starved regions. And as time passes, it’s becoming more efficient, less costly and more possible to fuel with renewable energy, easing the environmental impact. Of course desalination aloe won't be able to solve the water crisis entriely but it might help as part of a broader range of efforts to cut water use and increase water supplies. Its technologies are growing more energy-efficient, and there are new ways to reduce the environmental harm of the salty wastewater.

I picked this video because I thought the title was interesting and wanted to know the possibilities if that were to happen. In the beginning of the video already they tell you that without clouds the water just hangs around in the air creating close to 100% humidity. If you were to get on a flight, you might experience more turbulence than usual and without the protective cover of clouds to bounce sunlight into space, the sun will heat the earth more, creating more rising, uneven hot air. But there are more worse-case scenarios if the clouds disappeared. For example, what i discovered is that without clouds there will be no more rain and that means there won't be anyway to refill the water sources we drink from like lakes, streams, rivers, etc. So once last winter's snow melts we're stuck with whatever water we have on hand.Not only that but it is said by a cloud expert Chris Fairall that without clouds average surface temperatures would rise by as much as 22 degrees Celsius. This extreme temperature spike would not only destroy would not only destroy the habitats of most flora and fauna, killing off whatever survived the drought, it would also melt the polar ice caps and cause massive flooding of coastal cities.
