The visual aspects of this photograph are depth of field and colour, the colour stands out as there is contrast between the two colours. The technical side to this photo would be the lighting, aperture and maybe photoshop techniques, the lighting would have had to be taken into consideration, the aperture altered to fit the lighting and the photoshop techniques to brighten up the photograph. This would have been taken in a urban part of essex, it looks as it would be cloudy with a little bit of sun.

The visual aspects of this photograph would be framing and tone, the framing of this image is good as they have put the sign to the side rather than in the middle, even though the image is colourless it has a lot of tone and it gives a good effect. the photographer would have to had to take the aperture into consideration as the place it was taken looks quite dark, they would have also had to make the lighting right so the picture didn't come out to dark or to light. this photograph would had been taken on a dark and damp day.

The visual aspects of this image would be texture and tone, the nails sticking out of the fence give the photograph a good sense of texture, there is a lot of tone in this image, although this image is black and white it gives a good effect you can also see texture on the fence. the aperture would have had to be just right to get this photo as if it was slightly off the whole image could be blurry. i feel as if this image would have been taken on quite a miserable day, i think the weather would be rainy.

There is also a lot of tone in this image you can see this at the bottom of the picture. Remaking this picture would be easy to do as there is many places like this in essex. I would experiment with this photo by using two different camera lenes to get a wider range of photos. this photo look like it was taken of a sunny day

A photogram is a pictured with is produced without a camera, the picture is produced with photographic materials such as light sensive paper. The type of objects to use in the dark room would be things such a scissors, keys, watches, anything solid. the light source needed in the dark room would be the red cover light, this is so no light is exposed to the photographic paper. if we are photographing flat objects we will sometimes put a sheet of glass over the top to keep the objects in place while we take the photo. The photographic photo paper is very sensitive to light this is why when in the dark room we have to have the red light on rather than the normal light. We would use the thermometer to test how hot the chemicals are. The developer is the first chemical the photo goes in, you have to leave the photo in there for a least 2 minutes. the stop bath is the second of the chemicals you would leave the photo in there for 30 seconds. the fixer is the third and final chemical and you would leave the photograph in there for 5 minutes, if you leave it in the fixer for any longer your image will start to go brown. the last place you put your photogram would be in continus running water, you would leave the photograph in there for 15 minimum. the measuring cylinders are used to measure the chemicals. the developing trays are used for putting your photograms in them and waiting for the image to show up. and finally the print dryer is to dry your finished prints. the overall outcome of my photograms were very good, the exposer on them was just right and they didn't come out to dark nor to light.

The equipment needed for darkroom printing are: •objects

•Darkroom

•Light source

•Sheet of glass

•Photographic printing paper

•Thermometer

•Developer

•Stop Bath

•Fixer

•Measuring cylinders

•Running water

•Developing trays

•Print dryer
The process of darkroom printing is the same structure as photograms but you put film inbertween the light and paper. You have to make sure you have the red light on as the paper is sensitive to light. you then do a test strip to determine how long you expose the paper to light, after you have done that you put the image in the developer for 2 minutes, after that you put the image in the stop bath and leave it in there for 30 seconds maximum, after that you put the image in the fixer and leave it in there for 5 minutes minimum and finally put the image in continus running water, after that you put you're image through the dryer. After the test strip has been done you do you're final image, to do that you do exactly the same as you did for the test strip. the problems i found with dark room printing was figuring out how long i should expose the light to the paper for, i solved this by doing a few test strips and looking to see which part was the clearest. the overall outcome of the darkroom printing was good, next time i would make sure the exposer on the image was just right as my image came out a bit dark.
