         <title>Staff hypothesis: Passivity, dependency, and siloed silence in the organization is limiting members and groups from self-authorizing to address internal and external conflicts at personal, intragroup, and intergroup levels. There appears to be an avoidance of competition and conflict in the service of maintaining an equilibrium and safety.  Instead the organization’s members are seeking approval from the organizational/formal authority.</title>

         <title>Team: Conflict Avoidance</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Hypothesis: In an attempt to avoid conflict, we create a group of shared authority. We realized that we weren’t utilizing our authority. We were relying on our consensus to avoid conflict.</p><p><br/></p><p>How the group is formed: preexisting relationships, proximity, agreed upon condition </p><p><br/></p><p>Structure: porous, differentiated and fluid task roles, maintaining consensus, roles based on the overlapping needs of a subgroup (the eating ones) and individual needs. </p><p><br/></p><p>Interactions with other groups:</p><p>Early on 2 members acted as observers to the management team room</p><p>	⁃	we learned about boundaries for our group</p><p>	⁃	Management team being critical of other groups based on data represented</p><p>Consultants in our room</p><p>Then 2 other members acted as plenipotentiary to visit 1 group</p><p>Another member acted as plenipotentiary to visit another group </p><p>Visited the management team to receive consultation on our hypothesis</p><p><br/></p><p>Containment: </p><p><br/></p><p>What we learned: the information is in the padlet What the group studied: we attempted to study self-authorization but realized in fact we were studying conflict avoidance through consensus.</p>]]></description>
