If my parents never came to this country my life would have been so different. American culture is more open than Egyptian culture, in Egypt they are very traditional, their main focus is marriage and having children. I feel like I have more opportunities here in the United States than I would have if I was in Egypt. For example, I can get my masters or even my doctorate if I wanted. Also, it is easier to find a job in the United States than it is in Egypt.

Would there be a U.S.A if there were no immigrants? This situation is hard to imagine since this country is the land of immigrants. The MayFlower brought in some of the earliest immigrants to this country, and since then there have been several waves of immigrants to this land, and the land has changed with each new wave of immigrants. The change has always benefitted the country and its people, for which we should all be grateful. Imagine if there were no railroads in this country because those were built by the Irish and Italian immigrants. Imagine if there were no Silicon Valley with its Asian immigrants who are 'coding' for every large tech company. Imagine a USA with rough and unfixed roads, buildings, bridges etc because there were no immigrant construction workers to build or fix those. What if we had to eat potatoes and mean everyday and at every meal because there were no migrant workers to grow and harvest fruit and vegetables. A U.S.A without immigrants would not be a place any one would want to immigrate to; it would definitely not be 'God's own land' as it is called today because of its flourishing economy and its comfortable lifestyle. Immigrants are the reason this country is so appealing to the rest of the world.

Being an Hispanic immigrant in this country is difficult because we have to deal with a lot of things for example racism, not only from the white people but black people and sometimes even from our own people.
I have experienced racism more from my own people than I have ever experienced from other people. Another thing that immigrants have to deal is with the language, many of my family members learned to speak English but some of them don't speak English at all and some of my cousins that were born in the United States do not speak Spanish correctly.

If the United states did not have any immigrants everything would be different, the new cultures never be celebrate in USA for example Diwali this is a celebration that Hindus create and is celebrate in United States. At the same time without immigrants the USA will not have most of the things that have know some of this can the food, and their tradition that immigrants give to USA. The works the immigrants do for living have a big impact in the economy in the country, without the immigrants the economy don´t increase as know.

My life would be very different if I never came to USA. In Dominican Republic life is very hard, you can't find a job if you don't finish school and college. There they discriminated their own people only because they have tattoo or piercing. Is very hard to find jobs and old people can't work no more and also they don't respect our sexuality. I came in this country with the hope of a new life, in this country I have the opportunity to learn a new language and also to have my masters or even my doctorate if I wanted. I also want to mention it that i have a better opportunity in my education. Even tho we suffer from discrimination in this country for speak Spanish i think that there are just jealousy because we can speak two language and they not.

If I had not come to the United States, my life would have been very different, since in my country there is no such opportunity as there is in the United States. In my country there is too much crime and the truth is that most young people are going astray. My life was also different because in the United States there are many opportunities that in my country I could not have had. Another thing is that in the Dominican Republic it is very difficult to go to university since the government does not help anyone. Also in the Dominican Republic for people like me from the lower class it has been very difficult

My mother is from Peru and my father is American and since I was very little I was seeing how they are and what their cultures are like my father's mind is more open and my mother's is more reserved, in this country it is a powerful country and very good at making money I think my experiences of seeing come to this country as an immigrant is different because the food you get used to, the way you live, the things you have in your country is different, and the language too In this country, the majority of Native Americans are racist with Spanish speakers. 
Also many people cross the border with Mexico and it is very difficult for all those who do that I think it must be a unique experience and I do not think it is very good but they come to this country to look for more opportunities or to make money like my parents do they work in the USA to have their businesses in Peru and here they are like any other person but in Peru they are better known being in this country I had the opportunity to hear the experiences of others of what happened when they came here or how they lived in their countries also all start from 0 in this country.

I think it would be different because here in the United States we have studies, we have more possibilities to continue with our goals and not in our country we were not learning another language or similar things such as speaking or learning about other cultures, meeting people from another country or being in danger

Since i was born in the united states and i lived in mexico for 2 years when i was 10.My life would be so different because the schools are small,the chairs and desk are old. there are only 12 classrooms and you pay your own food.United states is more better because the schools are big , food is free.
i would been working instead of going to school because there no money to go to school like going to college. There is a lot of opportunities in the united states

In your experience, what is it like to be an immigrant?

immigrant in another country for example here in US migrants try to follow the rules of another country so that they do not have problems with the laws, which is more scary because they do not want to be reported and returned to their country. Also an immigrant is a hard worker because they wants their familys never work hard and make their dreams of their children. Most of the the immigrants are overcome because many have gone through many things because in some countries money is still lacking in houses for those are that some people come to work in other countries and finish their studies

The United States without immigrants would not be a global potential because they bring development to the country, if there were no immigrants the country would be poor and smaller, immigrants are a primary force for the country and most of the works have been for them, without them they would be insolvent.

Luis: Being an immigrant in the U.S.A. is not that easy at all. We had to leave everything behind in our country before coming here and all the people we had ever interact with and the people we love. We had to leave to have a better future to "success" in live, coming to a new country and we had to adapt to there laws, language and way of live, I miss my family in the Dominican Republic that I had to leave behind but I know one day when I go back they"ll say that I change a lot and be glad for myself because I want to be someone successful and someone that they can look up to and use me as an inspiration of not being fear of experiencing new things.

What would my life be like if I hadn't had the opportunity to be in the United States? I think my life would not have been so good since there are not many opportunities in my country. and it is difficult to get ahead, one of the reasons is the government. I think I would not have finished high school and not live a very good life, since some of my friends who grew up with me chose that path.

My life was different because in this country I have many more opportunities. People from my country come here to work because they earn a lot of money. Here I can study easier, here there are more opportunities. If I didn't want to study in my country it would be more difficult because I only earn about $ 100 a month and some other people like $ 316 a month. And here you can win many more weekly.When I lived in the Dominican Republic it was fun but the schools were small and there were not many students but the teachers did everything possible so that the children could learn.

I think they United State would be the same with out immigrant, we immigrant we are the one who makes United State United. Also i think if the United State did not have any immigrants i feel like what makes United State right now is all the culture and stuff that we bring from our country for example: they holidays that we bring from our country that also we can celebrate it her United State. Also if the United State wouldn't have immigrants they United State wouldn't have civilians that knows difference language i think they wouldn't have that a vantage if the United State wouldn't have that a vantage that has now with so many civilians that speak both language English and Spanish and many more language and also all the development and progress when you have that kind of a vantage that makes grow.

1.How would the USA be like without any immigrants?
If there were no immigrants in the United States, the economy would change a lot since immigrants are the ones who help the economy the most. In addition, immigrants leave their country to work and get ahead. With great strength and determination to have a better life than in their countries. without immigrants who are always working and helping the economy move forward, America may not be what it is today. Many people think that immigrants are not important and that they should go back to their country, but they don't really know what they are saying, because the immigrants in the United States contribute many dollars in taxes and are the ones who bring innovative ideas and spirit to incarcerate America. such as holidays, holidays or others.

I came to this country 4 years ago and my life is different since the first day that a suffer discrimination. When I came to this country i was in middle school, i was in 8 grade and I also was in level 1 in English. I didn't speak English at all i just knew how to say "Hi and How are you" and that's it. One day I went to the library to do a group homework with my classmate and a woman hear us speaking Spanish and she said to us " Go back to your country F*** Mexican" and a lot of things that i can't said, I didn't know why she was so mad at us she also was trying to fight with us and she trow a lot of things to us and I really felt bad for so long. Now I speak a little bit more of English and people still laughing at how i said things but I don't care about it no more because I'm here for a reason..

Without immigrants the United States would've never progressed and become one of the places that most people want to live because the immigrant are the ones that work the hardest in construction, factories, restaurants, agricultural places and even as teachers. In my experience in this country I have seen more immigrants working in restaurants, construction, teachers and many other people working or looking for jobs in the streets than I have ever seen a white person.

If I wouldn't come to the U.S.A., my life would be so different because I would not have the same opportunities that I'm given. As a Mexican female I know the struggles that is to live in Mexico if you are not from a high class and by that I mean that here I have the ability or opportunity to learn English, to study and be successful in life, to be someone that in the future my parents will feel proud of and say that it was worthy coming to the U.S.A. to find better opportunities. If I wouldn't come to the U.S.A. I know for sure that in Mexico probably I would not be in school by this point or probably I would but in Mexico is hard to make your dreams come true especially if you are a girl like me, for example, Mexico is one the countries where day by day they kill, rape or disappear girls even in small towns like the one I lived in and also because the mafia in Mexico is strong, the power and money is what is keeping Mexico going and there is so much injustice going on in Mexico. That's why I rather to be here in the United States than living in my own country where I know that I won't be safe neither my family.

Even though I was born in the United States, I have my parents that are immigrants. I know its not easy to cross the border, I haven't had that suffer my parents had when we where coming to the United States. They suffer of hydration, cold, food. My parents have cross the border several times. They brought me to Mexico when I was little and the last time I came here was 8-9 years ago. During the time, I lived with my dad in the United States when my mom was detained when she tried to cross after me and my siblings came back to the U.S. It wasn't an easy job for my dad to carry with 3 children. Then few months later, my mom was released and let her be with us as me and my siblings were citizens. By the time I was growing up, I would get a little mature of my parents situation as immigrants. They have suffer a lot because as immigrants all these years, they been working hard and hard for my siblings and I to be good, so we don't have need of nothing. Immigrants don't have that high of chances like citizens because they have to pay every where, they even pay their taxes. My parents be wanting to have a car, a house, to be good but as they don't have like a good social, good papers they loose those opportunities. But, even though I have a citizenship in the United States, I don't feel much different from my parents because I'm Mexican, my skin color, my English is not perfect like a white person. In the United States, people be so racist and discriminated just because we don'y speak the language, we have different culture and we could be poor...

If I wouldn´t the same to the U.S.A.

My life would be completely different because I would not have the opportunities that I have here, I would not have the opportunity to learn English, a good job and especially the economy, also in my country there is a lot of crime and many people die every day and the government does not does nothing about it. Also in my country it is very difficult to go to university because the government does not help anyone, and also in the Dominican Republic they do not respect people's sexuality they discriminate against it, and for those reasons in the United States there are more opportunities and more security.

My life would be different if I never came to the USA in several ways because I would never meet all of my friend that helped me adapt to this environment that is a lot different from my original country Dominican Republic. I would never learn English and have a good education as have in the USA, I wouldn't have the same job opportunity I have in the US .

Dominican Republic was fun but I would never have the opportunity of be someone that my parents feel proud and happy about. I also wouldn't have the type of clothes I use.

If the USA had no immigrants it wouldn't be the same as it is now, because it's a free country where all people can live an equal life people think that life would be better or easier if they moved to the USA. because the USA have immigrants they made this country full of different type of cultures, different religions, different languages, and different types of life styles. because the USA is not made up of one specific culture but many people from different countries find it easier to live there and have a good life than other countries.
