It did not really matter because our sections were so small, only 34 per section and only 4 sections in our year. So we actually knew everyone intimately over the years! It helped that we were section-mates in first year and second year.

Your Dad has always been a quiet guy. He was not one who was boisterous nor loud. I remember him to be a very good team mate in the weird sports we invented as we really did not have much then. Unlike today, we did not have a basketball court nor a soccer football field we could play the sport in. What we had was a soccer field filled with knee high cogon grass, so we could not let a soccer ball roll and kick it. With our ingenious minds, we ended up playing a mix of American football & rugby!

We would run through the grass while clutching the ball in our arms, while the opposing team would tackle the person who had the ball and bring him down, if he did not pass the ball to a team mate who could complete the run to score a goal on the opposing side.

My vivid memories of your Dad was being one of those who would be able to latch on to me and try to bring me down. I was lucky enough in our freshman year, I had a spurt of growth during Grade 6 that I had grown almost to my full height as an adult, so I was quite bigger than the rest of the freshman class who still looked like small boys from grade 5 or 4. Your Dad was one of those who not only latched on to me, and kept latched on me even as I was running to the other side. He was very determined like that!

Eventually as I said we went to our own sections and I think he enjoyed working and playing with the other boys in those sections as well!

My last memories of your Dad back in high school was when part of our CAT MODEL PLATOON, where we won . We worked long & hard on this and we enjoyed training with dismantling and assembly of the old M1 Garand. Map Reading, Drills & Ceremonies and various other subjects.

Your dad had always been a cheerful hard worker! When we met during reunions where he would normally bring your mom with him, he still remained humble yet cheerful and a very hard worker.

I pray for a peaceful rest for him and long fruitful lives for your mom and you and your siblings! I can see based on the posts and pictures I see here in this site, Edgar not only enjoyed himself but had fun with you all, his beloved family! As the saying goes, "Silent waters, run deep!"

Edgar was very deep man. He was successful in every way!

I am sorry, we did not have cameras back then, thus did not have too many pictures of ourselves!
