For your first post, write your stance on cloning (for or against) and why. Include a quote from one of the articles that supports your stance and then ask one of your questions you created yesterday. Type your name at the bottom of the post for credit. You must then respond to 3 other students' questions and you can also ask follow up questions.

I am against cloning animals because researchers have observed some adverse health effects in sheep and other mammals that have been cloned. These include an increase in birth size and a variety of defects in vital organs, such as the liver, brain and heart.
Evidence:
“A hybrid mammoth, roaming Russia today, raises all sorts of questions, Rothschild and MacPhee said. Would this hybrid be released into a world with no natural predators? How would a mammoth know how to be a mammoth without other mammoths around? "You've got all the problems of not having a mom" and not having other animals to learn from, Rothschild said. These animals "will be suffering for something that we could be solving a different way," she said.”

I am against cloning animals because animals could die during the process or after the process of being cloned. For example,"“The first is called embryo twinning. Scientists first split an embryo in half. Those two halves are then placed in a mother’s uterus.” If they split the embryo we don't know what could go wrong and then they could lose 2 lives.
