I moved here in 2021 after meeting my Saipan-native partner. I am currently working as a travel nurse in Guam which is a neighboring island of Saipan. Both Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands are U.S. territories. One interesting fact about the Northern Mariana Islands is that Tinian Island, one of the three islands in the Northern Marianas, was the launching point for the atomic bomb attacks against Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. 
Despite residing on this beautiful island, I consider myself a self-proclaimed introvert who prefers indoor activities away from the sun. I devote my time to singing, dancing, painting, and immersing myself in books, shows, and documentaries. However, I've recently taken the decision to engage in more physical activity, leading me to explore the island through hiking. Interestingly, during my walks and hikes, I've been fortunate enough to encounter sea turtles and eagle rays. I lived in California until I moved to Saipan. However, after moving to the U.S., I never returned to Korea for almost 20 years of my life. Recently, I visited South Korea for the first time since moving to the States, accompanied by my boyfriend. This visit was a unique experience for me as I had cultural shock, even though I'm Korean myself. After becoming a nurse, I started working in LA. When people ask me where I consider home, I always answer California—the sunny Sunshine State. California is a special place for me and will forever be my home, even though the increasing homeless population, gun violence, and drug-related issues always break my heart. The California I grew up with and remember is always green, filled with sunshine, excitement, friendship, and love.
Here's a picture of me and my boyfriend at Disneyland, and even though I am an adult now, Disneyland remains as my favorite place. Even now, as I manage school and work as a travel nurse, the opportunity to travel to Europe or the UK has proven elusive. However, it remains at the forefront of my bucket list.
