Last Saturday, I got my oil paints out to paint it. First, I dabbed bright yellow, mixing light and golden bits to copy its fuzzy fur. For the background, I chose sky-blue—like the picnic blanket Pooh uses in his stories. When I painted its smile, I kept glancing at the real bear, trying to match its quiet, cheerful grin (though my painted one turned out a bit choppy). =b

Now the painting is on my bookshelf, right next to the actual Pooh. They’re my favourite treasures: one is Mum’s pride wrapped in fluff, the other is my way of putting that warm feeling into colours. Every time I glance at the shelf, I see not just a doll and a painting—but a little bit of happiness, sitting side by side.
