It is a relatively small community with a ton of character. We are located at the base of the sacred San Francisco Peaks and sit at a lovely 7,000 feet. We are the world's first International Dark Sky City and our big claim to fame is that Pluto was discovered here. I spent time working jobs that never really utilized my degree and that never really felt true to who I was.  I spent a long time soul searching and thinking about what would make me really happy. I researched a lot of career paths and those people closest to me were anxiously waiting on my to make my decision (my mom even bought me a career outlook book with every imaginable career listed, sheesh). No matter what I looked into I always came back to Librarianship. Libraries and the search for new information have always been a big part of my life. Once I finally committed to this path I did a ton of research on different schools and programs and SJSU really seemed to stand out. My wife and I have been married for 10 years and she is also a vegetarian. Danielle is an aspiring artist and I am her biggest fan. 

I am a daughter of immigrants and a first generation graduate student. Honoring my parents sacrifice is one of my biggest motivations.
