  1. Earning compensation for religious activities: It is permissible to accept payment for performing acts related to religion, such as teaching or healing.

  This hadith is well-documented through the narration of Saidina Umar, serving as a foundation for understanding core aspects of the religion.

• What is Islam, Iman, and Ihsan?

  • Islam: The outward practice of the religion, including the five pillars: Shahadah, Salah, Zakat, Sawm, and Hajj.

  • Iman: Faith in the unseen, detailed through the six articles of faith: belief in Allah, angels, revealed books, prophets, the Day of Judgment, and divine decree.

  • Ihsan: The highest level of faith, worshipping Allah as though you see Him, and knowing that even if you cannot see Him, He sees you.

Belief in Qada and Qadar (Divine Decree & Predestination)

1. Changing Destiny through Supplication and Kindness:

While Allah has predetermined everything, sincere prayers and good deeds, especially being kind to parents, can influence certain aspects of our destiny. A hadith states, "Nothing can change the Divine Decree except du'a."

2. Unchangeable Decrees:

Some events, like the time of one's death, are fixed by Allah and cannot be altered. Believers are encouraged to trust in Allah's wisdom and accept these unchangeable aspects of destiny.

3. Finding Happiness through Acceptance:

True contentment comes from accepting both the good and challenging events in life as part of Allah's plan. This acceptance leads to inner peace and gratitude.

Belief in the Prophets

1. Loving and Longing for the Prophet Muhammad:

Loving the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is essential in Islam. He serves as the perfect role model, and following his teachings leads to spiritual success.

Reasons:

• The Prophet's Longing for Believers:

  The Prophet expressed a deep longing for his future followers, referring to them as his "brothers" and expressing a desire to meet them.

  Completing One's Faith:

  The Prophet stated that one's faith is not complete until they love him more than their own family and all of humanity.

2. Companions' Humility:

Even the Prophet's closest companions were unsure if they would be with him in the Hereafter, demonstrating their humility and continuous striving in faith.

3. The Story of Rabi'ah:

Rabi'ah ibn Ka'b al-Aslami, who served the Prophet, was offered a wish by him. He requested to be with the Prophet in Paradise, highlighting the deep love and aspiration to be close to him eternally.

Pratices to Get Closer and Love the Prophet

1. Improving Character:

Emulating the Prophet's qualities, such as honesty, compassion, and patience, helps believers draw closer to him.

2. Sending Blessings (Salawat):

Regularly sending blessings upon the Prophet strengthens the spiritual connection to him and brings numerous blessings. The Quran instructs believers to send blessings upon the Prophet.

By understanding and practicing these principles, believers can deepen their faith and strengthen their relationship with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

My goals in the future are to excel well in studies and improve my communication skills as I quite introvert.

After I finished all the tasks that have been given, I feel a deep sense of relief and accomplishment, as if a heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders.

Reflection

After completing my tasks, I realized that I struggled with time management. Next time, I will break my work into smaller steps and set deadlines to stay on track. I will also minimize distractions by working in a quieter space such as at the library.

“And indeed, you (O Muhammad) are upon great character.”

(Surah Al-Qalam 68:4)

His words, actions, and interactions with people—whether friends, family, strangers, or even enemies—demonstrated the highest level of morals, kindness, patience, and honesty. The Prophet ﷺ was sent not only to convey the message of Islam but also to perfect the character of mankind:

"Indeed, I have been sent to perfect good character."

(Hadith, Bukhari)

The Akhlak of the Prophet ﷺ

1. Honesty and Trustworthiness (As-Sidq & Al-Amanah)

Before Prophethood, people already called him Al-Amin (The Trustworthy) and As-Sadiq (The Truthful) because he never lied or betrayed anyone.

Even his enemies trusted him. When he migrated to Madinah, he left Ali ibn Abi Talib (RA) behind to return belongings that people had entrusted to him.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"The signs of a hypocrite are three: When he speaks, he lies; when he promises, he breaks it; and when he is trusted, he betrays the trust."

(Hadith, Bukhari & Muslim)

His truthfulness was so evident that even his greatest enemy, Abu Sufyan, admitted to the Roman Emperor that Muhammad ﷺ never lied.

2. Mercy and Kindness (Ar-Rahmah)

The Prophet ﷺ was extremely gentle and kind, even to those who mistreated him. When the people of Ta’if insulted and threw stones at him, instead of cursing them, he prayed for their guidance. Allah mentions his mercy in the Quran:

"And We have not sent you (O Muhammad), except as a mercy to the worlds."

(Surah Al-Anbiya 21:107)

He also showed great kindness to children, animals, and the poor, setting an example for all.

3. Patience and Forgiveness (As-Sabr & Al-Afwu)

The Prophet ﷺ endured years of persecution, insults, and hardships without ever seeking revenge.

When he conquered Makkah, he had full power to punish his enemies, but instead, he forgave them all, saying:

"No blame will be upon you today. May Allah forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy."

(Surah Yusuf 12:92)

His patience in the face of trials sets the highest example for us in dealing with difficulties in life.

4. Humility and Simplicity (At-Tawadhu')

Despite being the best of creation, the Prophet ﷺ never acted superior to others.

He would:

Sit, eat, and talk with the poor and slaves.

Do household chores, like mending his own clothes.

Walk without bodyguards, showing that he was a humble leader.

He said:

"The leader of a people is their servant."

(Hadith, Abu Dawood)

When people stood up for him, he told them not to, saying:

"Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary. I am only a servant of Allah, so call me the Servant of Allah and His Messenger."

(Hadith, Bukhari)

5. Justice and Fairness (Al-'Adl)

The Prophet ﷺ never showed favoritism, even towards his own family.

Once, a noblewoman from the Makhzum tribe was caught stealing. The people wanted to avoid punishment because of her status, but the Prophet ﷺ said:

"By Allah, if Fatimah (my daughter) stole, I would cut off her hand!"

(Hadith, Bukhari & Muslim)

He treated everyone equally, whether rich or poor, friend or enemy.

6. Love and Care for His Family

The Prophet ﷺ was the best example of a husband and father.

He said:

"The best of you are those who are best to their wives, and I am the best among you to my wives."

(Hadith, Tirmidhi)

He would play with his grandchildren, help in household chores, and express love to his family openly.

7. Generosity and Selflessness (As-Sakha')

The Prophet ﷺ never refused anyone who asked for help.

A man once asked for a garment, and although the Prophet needed it, he gave it away without hesitation.

He said:

"The best charity is that which is given when you are in need but still give."

(Hadith, Abu Dawood)

How Can We Follow the Akhlak of the Prophet?

1. Study His Life (Seerah & Hadith)

Read about his character, behavior, and interactions with people.

The Quran calls him a "beautiful example" for those who seek Allah:

"Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah, you have an excellent example..."

(Surah Al-Ahzab 33:21)

2.Practice His Sunnah in Daily Life

i) Greet others with salaam.

ii) Speak truthfully and kindly.

iii) Help others without expecting anything in return.

iv) Be patient and forgiving in difficult situations.

v) Make Dua for Good Character

The Prophet ﷺ made a beautiful dua for good manners:

"O Allah, guide me to the best character, for none guides to the best except You."

We should regularly ask Allah to help us follow his example.

Surround Yourself with Good People

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"A person is upon the religion of his close friend, so let him look at whom he befriends."

(Hadith, Abu Dawood)

Being around honest, kind, and pious people helps us develop better character.
