I noticed he was wearing camo in public so I thought it would be an interesting interview about food waste
Composting is throwing old food into gardens to feed them
Thinks food waste is terrible
Eats as much as he can from deer
- Freezes in a freezer in his garage
Wegmans
- Since it’s closest place
His wife does the shopping
He eats whatever she cooks
- ALL of it
Over buys food when he hosts
- Uses his freezer to save food
- Loves leftovers
If he doesn’t eat leftovers, he feeds it to his two dogs: Rusty and Kodiak
Fridge is normally kind of bare
- Not too much in it besides milk eggs and condiments
Keeps lots of frozen meat in his freezer
Sometimes he is unsure of where to place what waste
- So he just throws everything in the trash

Melissa:

Composting is when you “throw a whole bunch of old food and worms into a bin to make nutritious dirt”
No active food waste prevention
- Feels bad since she wastes a lot
- Blames oversized portions in America
- Never been outside of America but just assumed
Doesn’t shop but her parents shop at Wegmans since that's the closest place
Buys lots of pizza when she hosts events at her house
Throws old food in the trash at home
Fridge is stocked full since her and her siblings eat a lot
- 4 brothers
Her high school has the 3 bin system so she understands it well
- Believes everywhere should utilize the 3 waste disposal methods

Jack:

Never understood it, but he knows to put food in it
Tries to always eat his full plate no matter how long it takes him
Doesn’t grocery shop and it depends on what his parents are buying
His parents don’t let him host so he doesn’t have to deal with it
Wastes a lot of food since his family doesn’t like leftovers
- Reheated food doesn’t taste right
Average fridge in his mind
- Had no idea how to describe it
Goes to same high school as before so he understands as well

Olivia:

Doesn’t know how it works but she knows it’s a good thing
She times what she cooks based on expiration dates to help with food waste
Wegmans since it is closest
She does not have a house for hosting and never does
- Small apartment
Any extra food gets thrown in trash if it’s not eaten quick enough
- She doesn’t throw out much food though since she buys smart
Likes to keep it stocked with fruits and vegetables but she does not buy in bulk since she lives right next to a grocery store
Knows to put food and specially marked containers in compost, paper and plastic in recycling and everything else in trash

She is a environmentalist.
Her family composts and gardens.
She loves being green,

We were surprised to notice

She is a radical environmentalist.
The way she scolds her peers is sometimes taken as rude or mean.
She is very active on environmental blogs.
Her friends are not as conscious as she is.

We wonder if this means

She needs an effective channel to educate her peers.
She will continue to put effort to educate others or if she will get too discouraged.
People will begin to associate her rude personality with other people who care about the environment.
