Interacting with digital technology is a future in the healthcare environment. This TED talk explains well how data and informatics can be used in healthcare and help patients. He talks about how it can prevent health issues that the patient is susceptible to based on patient genomics and biologics. Building in live prediction charts based on individual level data can help us to improve health outcomes. This models can predict your healthcare and would allow you to address it. Aaron Black also talks about the risks of working with data. He mentions the importance of accuracy of the information collected for valid outcomes. Aaron Black emphasized how data in healthcare can be a privacy issue.

This TED talk talks about how storytelling can affect people. Stories are a great way to connect to other people and for example, when stakeholders feel connected to you it might be easier to persuade them. Stories make our whole brain "light up" and experience things that we are told about. When we are at the movie theater we might experience elevated heart rates to the things we see on the screen. It is also a critical skill for a leader and the act of storytelling helps people to trust you more.

One of the things I learned this week was how data can be used to convince people using numbers. Collecting meaningful data and sharing it with the right software can be very persuasive. This not only applies to healthcare but even businesses that sell cars.

Infographics can help capture attention and make complex knowledge understandable, making it a useful teaching/learning strategy.
Ethics: Yes, Even When Nobody is Watching

Since we talked about ethics this week I thought this video is perfect for it. It explains what ethics means and how it can affect us and people close to us when "no one is watching". As a speaker gave an example of her kids seeing her behaviors and learning from her. Also, she spoke of where our personal ethics come from. I can see how it can relate to medical professionals since sometimes our job is dependent on ethics and sometimes "no one is watching".
