<title>I know for me when I reflect on my work I gain deeper understanding of the content. My students will be able to &quot;Reflect on the reasonableness of their answer based on the context of the problem.&quot;(Van De Walle et al, p.7) because they will regularly practice reflecting on and analyzing their work. </title>

<title>We know that &quot;New learning is constructed on prior knowledge.&quot;(How students learn mathematics) so when teaching mathematics, like everything else, we need to begin where the child is, reinforce their existing knowledge base and scaffold future learning so that each student can be successful. I know how hard it is to catch up when you lack basic skills and background knowledge to make sense of new learning. </title>

<title>I know for myself and many others the self satisfaction that a person or child gets when they do something on their own. When we &quot;help&quot; too much we rob the student of their accomplishments. We need to listen to their ideas and allow them to work through the logic of it to discover new learning and understanding, building &quot;the creativity and confidence that allows them to attempt new challenges and problems they have never seen before.&quot;(How students learn mathematics)</title>

Group reflection time provides &quot;Time to reflect gives the brain a chance to process the work completed.&quot;(Crowe) It also allows the teacher time to see what the class is thinking of the learning/project and informally evaluate how they are doing. </title>

<title>I want my students to learn and understand that errors are not failures, the only way you can truly fail is not to try! My students will understand that every error is a new opportunity to rework the problem and find the correct solution, and that they gain a deeper understanding as they correct errors. My students will always be able to revise work after submission, for full credit on classwork/homework, and 1/2 credit for text questions. </title>

<title>I am a kinesthetic learner by nature and Movement helps me remember things along with mnemonic devices such as music and rhymes. In order to help my students get into the fun of math facts we will create song/dance/movement sequences and rhymes etc. to remember math facts and procedures. They will also learn to connect those facts to the real life situations where they are needed through fun and engaging classroom and computer math games. (Crowe)</title>
