The first day of the trimester we all went to the store to see what new we had and started to tackle the space.

Eagles Landing Committee Form

This class requires students to be on committees. Students filled out this form to figure out which one they'd like to be a part of. Next year I would like to revamp this form and make it more specific and reorganize some of the commiittees.

Because all of us were new to this class, including me teaching it, we did this activity to see what preconceptions they had coming into the class and what questions they might have.

It was determined that students and teachers were going to be our current focus so surveys were created to gain insight into what they did and didn't like about Eagles Landing. One survey was given in the fall and another in the Winter.

Investigating our Current Inventory

Students went through the store and saw what types of things we currently had and others went through the sales from the previous year to see what top sellers were.

Purchasing Committee Decisions

One team decided, with permission from Administration, to sell candy, popcorn, slurpies and Dippin Dots. These were dome of our top sellers and they learned how to predict what would and wouldn't sell. They also learned about the ordering process.

Creation of Online Donation Form

This was created by the Donations and Online Sales committee. It's a much easier way of streamlining donation requests all to one place.

Weekly Evaluations

The students wanted to create a way to be evaluated on a weekly basis so this is what they created. It led to some great discussions and the form changed throughout the year depending on what they felt they should be graded on.

We took notes of things we did and didn't like this year and we are leaving our store in great shape for next year!

Creation of the Store Maintenance Committee

As the year went on we realized we needed a group whose sole job was to keep the store organized. They got to order new shelving and we got multiple compliments from visitors on how organized the store was.

Committees had their own board in the classroom where they could jot down ideas or make lists to keep themselves accountable.

In past years there were only a couple of students that actually worked shifts in the school store. This year they wanted to give everyone a chance so they created a rotating schedule of workers.

New Inventory System

This new inventory system was developed by the leader of the Website group with input from other students. They made inventory part of everyone's accountability.

Visits to School Stores
