  • It is a story about four people : Joana, Florian, Emilia and Alfred, happened in World War II.
  • They all met when they were on the way to board the Wilhem Gustloff.
  • However, before they reach the destination, the ship is attacked and it's going to sink.
  • At first it was difficult for them to trust one another. But all of them became unite because they forced by the circumstance. 
  • In the process, three of them except Alfred, found their advantage and trust in each other. They work to save as many lives as they can.
  • Alfred attempts to throw Emilia into the sea because of his cowardice. But at last, both of them died after struggle.
  • Florian and Joana survive.
  • This tragedy is the largest maritime disaster and loss of life in recorded history

    A sailor thinks highly of himself. He wants to prove his heroism to the world. In comparison to other characters, Alfred is a very realistic people.

This story tells readers about World War 2 civilian life, day-to-day battle they had to fight on all sides.
