         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>As we have said when talking about dance we have three skill areas. These are Physical skills, Technical skills and Expressive skills.<br><br></div><ol><li><strong>Physical Skills: </strong>there are many physical skills including posture, coordination, control, balance, strength, extension and accuracy.</li><li><strong>Technical Skills</strong> include rhythm, actions, space, energy and speed</li><li><strong>Expression Skills</strong> relate to the projection and focus of the routine.</li></ol><div><br>Today were going to concentrate on <strong>Balance.</strong> <br>First I want ye to answer these questions into your copies:</div><ul><li>What is balance?</li><li>Why is balance important in dance? </li><li>What do you need to keep in mind to stay balanced?</li></ul><div><br>Balance means to be in a steady position to ensure you don't fall. In dance balance is very important as you don't want to fall in the middle of your routine. There are many cues that we need to keep in mind when staying balanced and we will tack about these further on. </div><div><br><strong>Practise the balances below and see how you get on:</strong></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To preform a balance correctly we need to know the specific teaching points.<br>These teaching points are :<br>- Keep your eyes focused forwards<br>- Use your arms to keep you stable <br>- Turn your bottom foot slightly out<br>- Extend your limbs keeping them string and straight<br>- Keep you core engaged<br><br>Practice these balances again incorporating these cues and see if they are now easier to perform.<br><br>----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br><br>This then brings us to the second physical skill were doing today. <br>                                             This skill is<strong> Control.<br>Control </strong>is the ability to start and stop movement, to change direction or hold a shape efficiently. It is something that needs focus and concentration and helps create a good routine.<br>It is directly linked to balance.<br><br>Having good control minimises the risk of injury. Many moves in dance require balance and control examples are shown below.</div>]]></description>
