Evidence 2- ENROLMENT

1-Explain the task- I arrived at college and I had to bring in my GCSE results to enrol in the course I had chosen. After showing my results to the course leader I was put onto the level I would be working at for the rest of the year. I then i logged onto a computer and put all my details into complete my enrolment with a course teacher. Finally I went into a separate room to have my photo taken for my student badge.

2-How did this develop your communication skills?
I used communication in my enrolment when I arrived and had to speak to teachers about things such as why I wanted to enrol on this course and how I found it doing my GCSES.
3- What went well?
I think when I was enrolling on my computer I communicated well when making conversation with one of the teachers who was helping as I spent a full hour with them because the internet was not working.
4- What could you improve?
I think i could improve my communication when i was sat waiting for assistance when I was waiting to enrol as i was sat on my own and did not initiate conversation with new people.

1-Explain the task-

In my job I am a waitress and I have the responsibilities to serve customers and take orders for their food. This also means giving good customer service by greeting people and seating them down.

2-How did this develop your communication skills?

This improves my communication skills as I have to ask the customers questions and I make conversations with them, making me more confident when speaking to strangers.

3- What went well?

When i speak to customers I usually can hold the conversation and not feel nervous to talk as I would usually feel before starting my job.

4- What could you improve?

During speaking to customers I could improve my sense of humour as I can sometimes forget to laugh at customers jokes which may make me seem uninterested in the conversation.

My role at The Royal Spice is a waitress and the uniform is all black and a black or white shirt. During the job role my responsibilities included tasks such as cleaning and setting tables, giving good customer service, serving food and drinks, making drinks and taking over the phone orders or personal orders. I work 5 days a week at this job and my hours vary.

In this job role I had no uniform that I was obliged to wear as the job was quite informal. During this job role my responsibilities included taking care of two children ages 2 and 10 whilst their parents went out. My responsibilities included feeding the children, keeping them entertained with games or activities and changing the youngest child into her night wear. This also meant setting boundaries and rules for the children such as their bedtime and their actions. During this job role I worked 8 hours for 1 day a week.

During this job role I acted as a waitress and pot washer. My uniform for this job consisted of black clothes but no formal attire. My responsibilities for this job included setting and wiping down tables, greeting customers with excellent customer service, serving customers food and washing any pots. At the end of each shift I worked I would also help clean the café before it was shutting and also counted any money that was inside the till. I worked within this job role every weekend and worked 5 hours each shift.
