         <description><![CDATA[<div>Social: Oyo Empire<br>The Oyo Empire gained wealth by trading with European merchants. They traded guns and gunpowder for slaves with the Portuguese. This helped the Portuguese out alot&nbsp; because they could not manufactrue guns or gunpowder.&nbsp;<br><br>Economic: Moluccas<br>The Moluccas were considered the “spice islands”. Muslim traders brought goods to Mediterranean Ports and Italian traders took them to European markets. Italy knew it would bring in more money if they had a direct way to Asia. But being the spice islands they brought along alot&nbsp; of people that wanted to trade and buy spices which brought in more money.&nbsp;<br><br><br>Political: Dutch East India Company<br>The Dutch East India Company had something called “sovereign power”. They were able to do basically whatever they wanted. They could sign treaties, build armies, wage wars and many more things without having to ask the pope or go through a higher person of power.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>
