Logic, the philosophy of mind and literature are more than interesting and help to inspire creativity within my creative writing course and would be very useful in the social sciences.

I've really enjoyed the material and the teaching is really engaging. As a third year creative writer this module wasn't the obvious choice but its really enhanced my knowldge on literature and the fundamental philosophy behind it. The content is vastly differing and provides different approaches whilst remaining just as relevant as the last. Passionate teaching - can't stress this enough! I find philosophy difficult, however I felt engaged and interested - even at 9am.
Open, accesible, provoking, interesting.
No powerpoints!!! :)  so couldn't go to sleep!
Taught in a real way by a really engaging lecturer - life and real passion.
Help received when needed.
Philosophy starts students questioning - they need to experience it before they go about their brain dead lives.

Engaging - Always feel I can express my thoughts.
Fascinating.
Taught with life - difficult to keep students awake at 9am and no one does it better than Kath.
No stupid powerpoints  YAY!!!
Never patronising - a rarity.
Excellent turn around of work.
Always clear what we are doing.
ESSENTIAL for students - we don't know what we ared doing. Philosophy wakes us up to the world/ different ways of thinking. Should be compulsory.

Everyone has opinions and theories even if they are conflicting but that is the beauty of it in my eyes. No one person definitions of love, cruelty and tragedy are the same, they sometimes overlap and the way it is allowed to be expressed in this course is brilliant. However, having a bit more guidance regarding the structure and requirements may help set up the foundations for the course. Had a great time anyway with it, thanks Kath.
